    Abstract: A graft coated pre-insulated pipe with fire retardant properties including a graft coating applied to the exterior of a pre-insulated pipe. The graft coating includes a graft solution and an expandable insulation material. The invention prevents damage to pre-insulated pipes caused by the expansion of the gasses in the cells of the foam within the pre-insulated pipe as a result of exposure to heat.
