  • Patent number: 12051108
Abstract: In certain embodiments, concurrency related to rehypothecated allocations may be facilitated via pre-release locking of associated positions. In some embodiments, a request to release a collateral allocation may be obtained, where the collateral allocation is associated with (i) a rehypothecated position and (ii) a cloned position on a leg downstream of the rehypothecated position, and the cloned position is derived from the rehypothecated position. Based on the release request, one or more legs related to the collateral allocation may be traversed to locate and lock one or more positions on such related legs (e.g., including the cloned position of the downstream leg). Prior to release of the rehypothecated position, the cloned position of the downstream leg may be locked based on the release request. The release of the rehypothecated position may be performed to fulfill the release request in response to the cloned position of the downstream leg being locked.

  • Publication number: 20140188691
Abstract: A system for managing rehypothecated collateral allocations in financial transactions includes processors coupled to memory configured to store deal attributes. The processors may execute a collateral allocation module that is operable to receive a request to release a collateral allocation, identify the collateral allocation in one or more deals at a first level, and identify a rehypothecated portion of the collateral allocation in deals at subsequent levels. Where an entirety of the collateral allocation is identified at each subsequent level, the collateral allocation module may credit the one or more deals at each subsequent level with net free equity equal to an amount of cash to be exchanged at a prior level of the subsequent levels. When a total of the net free equity credit is equal to an amount of cash to be exchanged at the first level, the collateral allocation module may release the collateral allocation.

  • Patent number: 8265280
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and method for producing entangled photon pairs via four-wave mixing in optical fiber. The source of entangled photons is designed to be stable with no manual alignment. This is accomplished with proper system design using polarization maintaining fibers or polarization controllers with feedback control. The source may contain a method of switching the output from an unpolarized entangled state to a polarized state, where the polarized state can be used to more easily align subsequent photon measurement systems to the proper configuration for measuring the unpolarized entangled state. The invention further provides a means to engineer the apparatus, including the use of a periodic filter common to both entangled pairs, such that the wavelength spacing between the pairs can be optimized such that multiple pairs can be generated with reduced adverse influence from Raman scattering.

  • Publication number: 20120196094
Abstract: A method for nano-patterning includes imprinting features in a resist with an imprint mold to form one or more topographic surface patterns on the imprinted resist. A a block copolymer (“BCP”) material is deposited on the imprinted resist, wherein a molecular dimension L0 of the BCP material correlates by an integer multiple to a spacing dimension of the one or more topographic surface patterns on the imprinted resist. The deposited BCP is annealed and at least a portion of the annealed BCP is removed, forming a template having discrete domains.

  • Publication number: 20070294250
Abstract: A customizable, intuitive content management front end is provided for a mobile communication device having limited computing resources. The content comprises multiple content items in several different content types. The apparatus comprises an environment management unit operative to support an environment, typically a three-dimensional environment, as a display on said screen resource. The environment is part of a front end application for the device. An object support unit supports placement of objects into the three-dimensional environment, and an association unit content types with the various objects, such that items of a given content type are accessible via a respective object. Individual content items of the given type are then selected either randomly, semi-randomly or manually for the object.

  • Publication number: 20070139816
Abstract: A method for fabricating a magnetic head with a trapezoidal shaped pole piece tip is described. The body of the main pole piece is deposited; then one or more layers for the pole piece tip are deposited. A bed material is deposited over the pole piece tip material. A void is formed in the bed material over the area for the pole piece tip. The void is filled with an ion-milling resistant material such as alumina preferably using atomic layer deposition or atomic layer chemical vapor deposition. The excess ion-milling resistant material and the bed material are removed. The result is an ion-milling mask formed over the area for the pole piece tip. Ion milling is then used to remove the unmasked material in the pole piece tip layer and to form a beveled pole piece tip and preferably a beveled face on the main pole piece.

  • Publication number: 20070064353
Abstract: A method is disclosed for fabricating a read sensor for a magnetic head for a hard disk drive having a read sensor stack and two lateral stacks. The method of fabrication includes forming lateral stacks on a gap layer, surrounding a groove to form a template. The read sensor stack is then formed in the groove, which defines the lateral dimensions of the read sensor stack, and lead layers are then formed on the lateral stacks. Also disclosed is a read head for a disk drive having a sensor stack defined by pre-established lateral stacks, and a disk drive having the read head.

  • Publication number: 20070048624
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention is a magnetic head with overlaid lead pads that contact the top surface of the sensor between the hardbias structures and do not contact the hardbias structures which are electrically insulated from direct contact with the sensor. The lead pad contact area on the top of the sensor is defined by sidewall deposition of a conductive material to form leads pads on a photoresist prior to formation of the remainder of the leads. The conductive material for the lead pads is deposited at a shallow angle to maximize the sidewall deposition on the photoresist, then ion-milled at a high angle to remove the conductive material from the field while leaving the sidewall material. An insulation layer is deposited on the lead material at a high angle, then milled at a shallow angle to remove insulation from the sidewall.
