  • Patent number: 11992697
Abstract: A method for treating a diseased site in a human or animal body is provided which includes injecting in a diseased site one or more phosphors which are capable of emitting ultraviolet or visible light into the body; infusing the diseased site with a photoactivatable drug; applying an initiation energy from an initiation energy source comprising an x-ray, gamma ray, or electron source to thereby initiate emission of ultraviolet or visible light into the body; and controlling a dose of the initiation energy with a processor to produce (i) a cytotoxicity inside the diseased site of greater than 20% or (ii) a day-25 stable tumor volume, wherein the processor is programmed to apply the initiation energy in a pulsed manner, wherein the initiation energy is delivered in either (i) a radiograph mode, or (ii) a pulsed fluoroscopy mode.

  • Patent number: 11979621
Abstract: Enhanced trick-play modes for video content that is being streamed to a client from a server are described. In an embodiment, the enhanced trick-play modes are provided with relatively low latency and high quality using trick-play optimization techniques for a streaming environment, avoiding the need to stream the entire contents of the portions through which the viewer is fast forwarding. By employing sophisticated selection criteria of which parts of the content to download at what time, the quality of the playback experience is improved versus that which would conventionally be possible when using a simple sequential frame data download. The streaming client maintains a cache of nearby significant frames, such as nearby key frames, in forward and/or reverse directions of the current playback position, without having to download the entire portions of the video stream in which the significant frames reside. The trick-play modes utilize these frames.

  • Publication number: 20240114510
Abstract: The present disclosure provides solutions to sidelink transmission/reception problems by preparing waveforms for multiple resource blocks (RBs) in a given bandwidth. Upon determining the availability of RBs or sets of RBs the apparatuses and methods of the present disclosure allow for dynamic determination and use of available sidelink frequencies. An apparatus may comprise a memory and at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to transmit and/or receive sidelink data in at least one contiguous set of RBs within a bandwidth part (BWP) of an unlicensed frequency band, the BWP including a plurality of RB sets, wherein the SL data is transmitted and/or received in a waveform generated for at least one of the plurality of RB sets prior to a listen-before-talk procedure indicating an availability of the at least one contiguous set of RBs for transmission.

  • Publication number: 20240084380
Abstract: The present disclosure provides compositions and related methods, e.g., for preparing immobilized nucleic acid nanostructures using compaction oligonucleotides. In some embodiments, rolling circle amplification reaction can be conducted with compaction oligonucleotides on-support or in-solution to generate concatemer molecules having multiple copies of a polynucleotide unit arranged in tandem. Each polynucleotide unit comprises a sequence-of-interest and at least one universal adaptor sequence that binds one end of a compaction oligonucleotide. The 5? and 3? regions of the compaction oligonucleotide can hybridize to the concatemer to pull together distal portions of the concatemer causing compaction of the concatemer to form a nanostructure. Nanostructures having tighter size and shape compared to concatemers generated in the absence of the compaction oligonucleotides.

  • Patent number: 8922123
Abstract: A light-emitting device control method is provided. The light-emitting device control method comprises the steps outlined below. A light-emitting module of a light-emitting device having light-emitting unit string each having light-emitting units connected in series is operated. One end of each light-emitting unit strings receives a same DC voltage. A voltage drop value across each current control units connected in series to at least one of the light-emitting unit strings is retrieved to further determine whether the light-emitting unit of each of the light-emitting unit strings malfunctions. When x light-emitting units of a specific string malfunction and x is larger than or equal to a malfunction threshold value p, the x malfunctioned light-emitting units are shorted and (x?p+1) light-emitting units in each of the light-emitting unit strings other than the specific string are shorted. The DC voltage received by each of the light-emitting units is decreased.
