    Abstract: A new post and squirrel barrier for bird feeders is disclosed with a post, a shroud assembly, and an ornamental plaque, where the shroud has an inverse tapered exterior and it is also suspended and allowed to have a defined range of motion in response to an attempt by a squirrel (or other animal) to climb the bird feeder post. The invention also includes a integrated auger for enhanced installation of the post into the ground.
