  • Publication number: 20240025160
Abstract: An extruded foil may include at least one layer in which platelet-shaped filler particles are uniformly distributed in a polymer matrix comprising at least one fluoropolymer and at least one further layer. The foil may have a particularly high TSR, a high weathering resistance, and excellent mechanical properties. Therefore, the foil may be highly suitable for surface-protection of materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and for use in high-pressure laminates (HPLs).

  • Publication number: 20230391057
Abstract: Coextruded acrylic foils made from impact-modified polyalkyl (meth)acrylates and laser engravable labels containing these foils. The coextruded acrylic foils are designed for labelling by a laser and contain a contrast layer having at least one inorganic filler and an engraving layer arranged on the contrast layer and having at least one colourant.

  • Publication number: 20230106433
Abstract: An acrylic multilayer foil includes a layer in which silica particles are uniformly distributed in an acrylic polymer matrix and at least one further layer. Due to adhesive promoting properties of the layer containing silica particles, the multilayer foil can be easily coated or laminated onto a substrate. The foil has a high weathering resistance and excellent mechanical properties. Therefore, the multilayer foil is highly suitable for surface-protection of materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and for use in high-pressure laminates (HPLs).

  • Publication number: 20230100304
Abstract: An acrylic multilayer foil includes a layer A in which silica particles are uniformly distributed in an acrylic polymer matrix and a coating layer D. Due to adhesive promoting properties of the layer A containing silica particles, the coating layer D can be advantageously applied onto the layer A. The foil has a high weathering resistance and excellent mechanical properties. Therefore, the foil is highly suitable for surface-protection of materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and for use in high-pressure laminates (HPLs).

  • Patent number: 11285708
Abstract: Heat resistant brittle films can be made from impact-modified poly(meth)acrylimide, and forgery prevention labels can contain the heat resistant brittle films. The films can be advantageously prepared by extrusion and, depending on the desired purpose, can be designed to be transparent, translucent, or entirely non-transparent, e.g., white. Ideally, the brittle films and the forgery prevention labels containing the brittle films have no intended break points such as slits, perforation, etc.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 7, 2020
Date of Patent: March 29, 2022
Assignees: Röhm GmbH, Roehm America LLC
Inventors: Ghirmay Seyoum, Markus Parusel, Kim Struwe, Anderson Costa, Claude Guénanten, Helmut Häring

  • Publication number: 20220024102
Abstract: A transparent weathering resistant foil for protection of various substrates against solar radiation contains at least two layers A and B, wherein the spectral transmittance of the layer A at any wavelength ?A is not more than 10%; wherein 270 nm??A?360 nm; and the spectral transmittance of the layer B at any wavelength ?B is not more than 10%; wherein 270 nm??B?370 nm. The foil can also contain at least two layers A and B; wherein the spectral transmittance of the layer A at any wavelength ?A is not more than 20%; wherein 270 nm??A?310 nm; and the spectral transmittance of the layer B at any wavelength ?B is not more than 10%; wherein 270 nm??B?370 nm.
