Abstract: Various examples are directed to apparatus and methods for providing a door latch block assembly. An apparatus includes a first planar surface configured to mount parallel to and facing away from a first side of a door frame, and a second planar surface configured to mount flush with and facing toward the first side of the door frame. The apparatus further includes a rectangular protrusion extending from the second planar surface configured to extend through an aperture in the door frame and protrude from a second side of the door frame. The apparatus also includes cylindrical openings extending through the latch block apparatus configured to receive hardware for affixing a latching mechanism to a distal end of the protrusion. The apparatus is configured to provide precise alignment of the latching mechanism for securing the door frame to a door.

Abstract: An access door for insertion into an opening in a construction surface is provided. The access door has a frame for engagement with edges of the opening in the construction surface. The frame has a channel formed therein for receiving a thermally insulative material to provide a thermal break between the frame and the construction surface. A door is operatively coupled to the frame and movable between an open position allowing access through the opening in the construction surface and a closed position preventing access through the opening in the construction surface.

Abstract: A clip-in access door for covering an opening in a construction surface has a frame for mounting in the opening, a door mounted on the frame, and a plurality of clips mounted on the frame for securing the frame in the opening of the construction surface. The clips along at least one edge of the frame are rotatable between an insert position and a lock position. Methods of using the clip-in access door are provided.
