One embodiment comprises determining use of at least one common component in a plurality of product models, receiving a forecast for the plurality of product models that use the common component, computing a demand correction factor for each of the forecasts, and determining inventory requirements for the at least one common component based at least in part on the respective forecasts and demand correction factors.
