Patent number: 9888084Abstract: An automatic network domain diagnostic, repair, and mapping tool facilitates access by a user to shared resources on a network. A user provides an address, such as a domain name system (DNS) address, of the shared resource and user identification information, such as a username and password. The provided address is checked and repaired if necessary to identify the network server having the shared resource. The identified server is checked, such as by pinging the server, to ensure that it is actually responding. The supplied user identification is checked, such as by querying a domain controller, to confirm whether the user identification corresponds to an existing account. When the checks are complete, and everything is found to be in order, the shared resource is mapped automatically for the user.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2014Date of Patent: February 6, 2018Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Courtney S. Bair, Christopher T. Heublein, Kimberly A. Jones

Patent number: 8528936Abstract: A system and method to reduce water spray from one or more truck tires of a truck driving through rain on a water covered road. A combination centrifuge and air compressor device collects a mixture of air and rainwater, to separate the air from the rainwater and to compress the air. An air distribution manifold system directs the compressed air from the combination centrifuge and air compressor device onto an area of the water covered road in front of one or more of the truck's tires so that the water from the area rises up from the road. Then a shield barrier channels the water that rises up from the area on the road away from one or more of the truck's tires.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2010Date of Patent: September 10, 2013Inventors: Rickey Johnson, Kimberly Jones-Johnson

Patent number: 8224962Abstract: An automatic network domain diagnostic, repair, and mapping tool facilitates access by a user to shared resources on a network. A user provides an address, such as a domain name system (DNS) provided address, of the shared resource and user identification information, such as a username and password. The provided address is checked and repaired if necessary to identify the network server having the shared resource. The identified server is checked, such as by pinging the server, to ensure that it is actually responding.
