  • Patent number: 10159437
Abstract: A surgical gown (100) includes a body-covering portion (101) and, optionally, sleeves (102,103). A surgery procedure verification card (120) can be attached to the surgical gown (100). The surgery procedure verification card (120), which can be configured to be selectively detachable from the surgical gown (100), is configured to facilitate a start of a surgical procedure after completion of a predetermined procedure. The surgical gown (100) can be color coded to indicate a barrier level or the presence of the surgery procedure verification card (120). The surgical gown (100) can be included in a surgical pack (400). The surgical pack (400) can include one or more surgical procedure gowns (401,402) that are not color-coded, as well as a surgical drape (440). Methods of using and manufacturing the surgical gown (100) are also described.

  • Patent number: 9636180
Abstract: A surgical drape, system and method of using comprise a surgical drape having a fenestration to be placed over a surgical site of a patient. The surgical drape includes a barrier removably attached to the surgical drape and adapted for placement over a portion of the fenestration to prevent the start of the surgical procedure. Upon verification of a set of predetermined conditions, the barrier is removed by a member of the surgical staff in order to begin the surgical procedure.

  • Patent number: 9084593
Abstract: A holder (100) for medical implements includes a base member (101) and at least one medical implement receiver (110). Each medical implement receiver (110) includes a pair of retention members (114,115) extending from the base member (101). Opposing faces (116,117) of the retention members (114,115) define an implement receiving recess (118). Slots (120,121) are provided in the opposing faces (116,117) to facilitate reception of syringe needle cap rims (330). The holder (100) can be configured as a medical tray (801) that can be attached to one or more other medical trays, including one having cup holders (870,871,872), one including a needle containment receptacle (881), or other medical trays.
