    Abstract: Systems and methods for the elimination of odor caused by burned or laser-etching leather are provided. One method comprises the steps of providing a leather article with a burned-odor characteristic by laser-treating a side of the leather article; and treating the side of the leather article with an odor absorbent comprising zinc ricinoleate to eliminate the burned-odor characteristic.
