  • Patent number: 5522715
Abstract: In a horizontal scroll compressor, a compressor structure and an electric motor, both disposed in a hermetic housing, are coupled with each other through a rotating shaft extending substantially horizontally. Lubricating oil accumulated in the bottom of the hermetic housing is supplied to a thrust face of a supporting frame of the compressor structure. To spread enough lubricating oil over the thrust face and prevent seizure and scoring of the thrust face, the lubricating oil is accumulated in a central concave part of the frame, and oil paths are provided to lead the lubricating oil to the upper part of the thrust face of the frame and to discharge excess lubricating oil from the lower part of the thrust face.

  • Patent number: 5520525
Abstract: A scroll compressor in which each of its stationary and swivel scrolls has at least one recess formed in the inner surface of its wrap adjacent to an area of wrap engagement or disengagement. The recess has an inclined edge extending at an angle to the end plate upon which each lap stands upright. The recess enables the wraps to have gradually changing lines of contact with each other along their heights to prevent undesirable noise or vibration during their engagement or disengagement.

  • Patent number: 5494422
Abstract: A scroll type compressor includes a check valve (42) having a valve element (63) disposed in a valve chamber (36, 60) and moveable in the vertical direction. A back pressure port (60a) having one end opening at a retainer surface (62a) and the other end communicating with a high-pressure side chamber (3, 43) is disposed in a retainer having the retainer surface thereon which is engaged by the valve element (63) when the check valve is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 5492460
Abstract: In a scroll type machine, such as a scroll compressor, the difference in level between the axial end surface of a wear-resistant plate (40) installed at the periphery of the end plate (17) of an orbiting scroll (16) and the axial end surface of the end plate (17) is set within 0.+-.10 .mu.m. This difference in level (.delta.) is set to this range to prevent wear of the wear-resistant plate and the end plate of the orbiting scroll and to prevent deterioration in the performance of the scroll-type compressor so that a scroll-type compressor with high performance and high reliability can be realized.

  • Patent number: 5447418
Abstract: A scroll-type fluid machine in which the high-pressure chamber side (36) of a back pressure chamber (6a) using a fixed scroll (11) made of an aluminum base material can be fully sealed. The fixed scroll (11) is made of an aluminum base material, and a discharge cover (2) is made of a ferrous material. Between the U seals (35) interposed between the high-pressure chamber (36) side of the back pressure chamber (6a) and the low-pressure side, at least the U seal (35a) on the high-pressure chamber (36) side is made of glass-reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene resin, and is installed so as to be pressed against the fixed scroll (11). The U seal withstands a high temperature and large pressure difference and is installed so that the sliding mating part of the U seal (35a) is not the fixed scroll (11) made of an aluminum base material which is easily worn, but the discharge cover (2) made of a ferrous material which is less prone to wear.

  • Patent number: 5400611
Abstract: A refrigerating cycle machine characterized by comprising hardware or software means for raising the speed of rotation of the compressor or stopping the fan for producing an air current through the condenser when the operation of the machine is turned off and stopping the operation of the machine when a predetermined time has elapsed. This increases the suction and discharge pressure difference to such an extent that generates a sufficiently high pressure difference between both sides of the valve body to move the valve body toward the closing position surpassing the sticking force when the machine stops.

  • Patent number: 5375986
Abstract: An oil pump for a closed type compressor of the present invention is mounted in the inside bottom of a closed housing. In the oil pump, a rotor is driven to revolve by an eccentric shaft formed at the lower end of a rotary shaft for driving a compressing mechanism while the rotor is formed with a projection which is inserted into a slot of a cylinder chamber in order to inhibit the rotation of the rotor. In this arrangement, the root of the projection is cut away so that the projection is prevented from interfering with angled portions of an opening of the slot.

  • Patent number: 5316454
Abstract: An inexpensive, efficient pump which can supply lubricating oil uses the revolving motion of an orbiting scroll 2. The pump is so constructed that a piston supported by a fixing member 1 is fitted in a cylinder chamber 102 formed in the inner surface of the end plate 21 of an orbiting scroll 2 which revolves while sliding on the fixing member, by which a pump chamber 104 is defined between them. The piston 101 is extended or retracted depending on the revolving motion of orbiting scroll 2, the volume of the pump chamber 104 is increased or decreased, and a fluid suction port 105 and a fluid discharge port 106 are connected to the pump chamber 104 at predetermined time intervals to supply the fluid.
