  • Patent number: 7784833
Abstract: A pair of roller skis each comprising at least four fixed rollers disposed in parallel on the central lower face of a long and narrow board made of an elastic material while having a left-right spacing corresponding to the width of the board and while having a front-rear spacing shorter than the front-rear length of a boot secured to the board, and two casters, one disposed on the lower face of the top portion of the board and the other disposed on the lower face of the tail portion of the board, wherein when the board is placed on the ground with no load applied thereto, only the rollers of the top and tail casters make contact with the ground and the fixed rollers at the central portion are away from the ground. With this configuration, it is possible for the user to enjoy or practice skiing on slopes with no snow while having sliding feelings and using sliding techniques similar to those of snow skiing.

  • Patent number: 6217056
Abstract: The walking aid includes a stick body inclined in the forward-and-backward direction so that the lower end thereof is positioned forward, a support rod installed behind the stick body and inclined so that lower end thereof is positioned backward, and wheels provided on both sides of the lower end of the stick body and on both sides of the lower end of the support rod, steering being carried out by turning the stick body, wherein a rocking mechanism is provided at the wheel installation portion of the stick body to support an axle rotatably with respect to its axis in the forward-and-backward direction. With this kind of structure, even when the stick body is tilted or steered, the axle rocks automatically so that the wheels on both sides remain contact with the ground at all times, whereby it is possible to obtain a stable, easy-to-use walking aid.

  • Patent number: 5431255
Abstract: A braking device for bicycle provided with two wire brake systems is disclosed. There is provided a relay amid outer tubes of both brakes to which divided ends of the outer tubes are connected and both continuous brake wires are fixed together inside the relay after individual adjustment. It is then possible to actuate the two brake systems simultaneously by manipulation of either brake lever and proper adjustment is feasible with ease for it can be done independently before fixing of both wires.

  • Patent number: 5064035
Abstract: The coaster brake of this invention is provided with a clutch cone screw-fitted to a driving body which is driven by pedals, to be axially movable in correspondence with the driving body's turning direction, a brake cone supported through a clutch mechanism which is not turnable in the forward direction, but which allows its turning in the reverse direction, and a brake members which is operated to apply brake on the hub shell by the aforementioned clutch cone moving to approach the aforementioned brake cone side, when the driving body is turned in a reverse direction. When the hub shell is turning in the forward direction, the brake action may be exhibited by applying to the driving body reverse rotation similarly top conventional coaster brake.

  • Patent number: 4766772
Abstract: A hub mechanism according to this invention for the self-propelling type light vehicle is provided with: a hub shaft secured to the main body of the vehicle; a pair of right and left drivers rotatably carried by the hub shaft and rotatable in the directions for forward and backward movement of the vehicle when actuated by the driving force transmitted from a driving force generating part; a hub shell rotatably carried by the hub shaft; a pair of right and left one-way clutches for forward movement to transmit rotations of the drivers for forward movement to the hub shell and another pair of right and left one-way clutches for backward movement to transmit rotations of the drivers for backward movement to the hub shell; and releasing members for releasing the rotation-transmitting actions of the one-way clutches individually or collectively; in which the rotational directions of the hub shell are optional when the rotation-transmitting actions of the one-way clutches for forward and backward movements are indi

  • Patent number: 4702486
Abstract: A driving device for bicycle comprising a pedal system having a left and a right pedal which repeat reciprocating motion and a hub section provided with a left and a right driving force transmission mechanism for transmitting the treading force applied to each pedal to the driving wheel independently, the aforesaid driving force transmission mechanism transmits the forward torque imparted through the pedal to the driving wheel but does not transmit the rearward torque and is provided with a clutch mechanism for disconnecting the connection between the driving wheel and the pedal when the driving wheel reverses as the bicycle is moved back. When the pedals are treaded for reciprocating motion, the driving wheel is rotated in the forward sense to move the bicycle forward and even when the left and right pedals are interlocked so that they can be treaded alternately, reversing the driving wheel is feasible so that the bicycle can be also moved back.

  • Patent number: 4595213
Abstract: The auxiliary wheel arrangement of bicycle of this invention comprises arms extending sideways from the bicycle body to be vertically displaceable, a means for imparting to the arms a torque required for lowering the tips of these arms and auxiliary wheels attached to the tips of the arms, and is used attached to e.g. the rear wheel of a bicycle on both sides thereof. A bicycle equipped with the auxiliary wheel arrangement of the present invention, which can have its body swayed in either lateral direction, is prevented from tilting of the body when it is parked or stopped, being thus kept upright then without fail.
