  • Patent number: 11518444
Abstract: The present invention provides a front end structure in which cooling performance can be improved. A front end structure according to an aspect of the present invention includes a frame portion 41 that surrounds an outer circumferential part of a heat exchanger and supports the heat exchanger; a duct portion 42 that is connected to an inner circumferential edge of the frame portion 41 and guides outside air, which is taken in through a first introduction port 61, in at least an up-down direction through a space between the duct portion 42 and a front surface of the heat exchanger; and a division portion 43 that is provided in at least one of the frame portion 41 and the duct portion 42 and partitions the heat exchanger into a heat exchange area in which outside air is able to pass through in a front-rear direction and a support area which is positioned on a side circumferentially outward from the heat exchange area and is supported by the frame portion 41.

  • Patent number: 11420684
Abstract: What is provided is a front end structure which can secure a strength and rigidity of a frame portion and reduce a weight thereof. The front end structure includes a frame portion (45), a vehicle body mounting portion (46), and a duct portion (42). The frame portion is formed to cover outer peripheral portions of a radiator and a condenser disposed in front of the vehicle body. The vehicle body mounting portion is provided on the frame portion and is connected to a front end of a front side frame (23) which extends in a forward and rearward direction of a vehicle body. The duct portion is continuous with the front end of the frame portion, and at least a part thereof is disposed above the vehicle body mounting portion and forms a continuous flow path between the duct portion and the condenser in a vertical direction. The frame portion, the vehicle body mounting portion, and the duct portion are integrally formed.

  • Patent number: 7141206
Abstract: An aluminum plate (13) is first plastic-deformed (FIG. 3D) in such a way as to envelop a foaming-agent compact (14), which is not foamed yet. Then, terminals of the aluminum plate (13) are integrally seam-welded (FIG. 3E) to thereby obtain a closed section structure (23). Subsequently, the foaming-agent compact (14) contained in the closed section structure (23) is foamed by being heated to foaming temperature thereof. Consequently, a pipe-like frame filled with a foam (27) is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5829824
Abstract: A rear body structure of a vehicle is disclosed which comprises a pair of right and left rear wheel houses and a reinforcing cross member extending between the rear wheel houses, wherein the cross member is comprised of a lower cross member located below a floor panel of the vehicle and an upper cross member located above the floor panel, and wherein the lower cross member, the floor panel and the upper cross member are weld connected together. As a result, the rigidity of the cross member is increased, whereby drumming arising from the vibrations transmitted from suspensions to areas about a bulkhead of the rear body structure may be avoided, and the time required for luggage loading and unloading operations with respect to a luggage compartment may be shortened. Since the upper cross member is designed to have a small height, it also becomes possible to load long articles spanning from the luggage compartment to a rear part of a passenger compartment.
