    Abstract: Cobalt, nickel and/or radioactive cobalt are separated from an alloy containing elements belonging to the iron group or family in such a manner that the alloy is melted in a molten bath of tin, lead and/or an alloy thereof whose weight is more than ten times as heavy as the alloy and then silicon is added to the molten bath so that a Fe-Si phase floats up and is separated, concentrating the cobalt and nickel in said bath.
