  • Patent number: 5041265
Abstract: A hydrogen gas analyzer having an improved delivery system is provided wherein a plurality of branched passageways can supply a sample cell and an additive fuel to a combustion chamber. Cutoff valves can be activated to control the flow rates through the respective passageways so that when the concentration of hydrogen in the sample gas is high, the flow rate from the additive fuel will be reduced, and when the concentration of hydrogen is low, the flow rate of the sample gas is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4794255
Abstract: The absorption analyzer of the type provided with light sources (3a, 3b), cells (1, 2) containing a reference gas and an ingredient gas to be measured, respectively and a detector (5) for determining the absorption of the light emanating from the light sources and passing through the cells, is additonally equipped with a gas filter (8) arranged in the optical path between said light sources and the detector and contains an ingredient gas with an absorption spectrum band that nearly corresponds to that of an ingredient gas to be measured or an ingredient to be measured. The advantage of the invention is that a relatively large range of concentrations of gas ingredients can be measured with the same type of cells having the same cell length.

  • Patent number: 4776019
Abstract: A diaphragm for use as a pressure receiving and dislocatable member in a condenser-type microphone detector. The diaphragm electrode is a thin metallic film member having a central movable portion, a supporting frame portion around the outside of and spaced from the central movable portion, and at least three supporting spring portions at equal intervals around the periphery of the central movable portion and connected between the central movable portion and the supporting frame portion for permitting the central movable portion to be moved out of the plane of the supporting frame portion by differential pressure across the opposite sides of the central movable portion. The central movable portions can have holes therein for partly relieving the pressure thereon.

  • Patent number: 4719352
Abstract: An apparatus for intermitting beams of light for use in a gas analyzer in which a rotary shaft of a chopper is supported by first and second ball bearings. An outside ring of the first ball bearing is fixedly mounted on a bearing housing and either an inside ring or an outside ring of the second ball bearing is adapted to be movable in the thrust or axial direction relative to the rotary shaft, whereby the second ball bearing is movably energized in the thrust direction by an elastic member to eliminate shake of the rotary shaft due to play in the ball bearings and thus reduce modulation noise to improve measuring accuracy of the gas analyzer.

  • Patent number: 4593197
Abstract: A gas analyzer has a generally cylindrical cell having cell windows closing the opposite ends thereof and which are infrared passing materials and pipes for passing a sample gas through the cell, a source of infrared radiation at one end of the cell, a chopper at the other end of the cell, and a sensing part of the other end of the cell on the opposite side of the chopper from the cell. The sensing part has a plurality of dual pyroelectric sensors spaced around the axis of the cell and each having a pair of elements constituted by a light receiving element for receiving infrared radiation which has passed through the cell and an auxiliary element, the pair of elements in each sensor being positioned substantially radially relative to the axis of the cell with the light receiving element radially inwardly of the auxiliary element and lying within the cross-section of the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical cell and the auxiliary element lying outside the cross-section.

  • Patent number: 4501968
Abstract: An infrared radiation gas analyzer for determining the concentration of an ingredient in a sample gas has a sample gas container for containing a sample gas at a temperature at which the ingredient the concentration of which is to be determined will emit infrared radiation in a range characteristic of the ingredient and a window for allowing the infrared radiation to escape from the container. A pair of filters is provided, one of the filters transmitting only radiation in the range and the other of the filters transmitting only radiation in a range near to the firstmentioned range. A disc with the filters thereon rotates in front of the window for passing the filters across the path of radiation escaping from the container.
