  • Publication number: 20030132455
Abstract: A monolithic integrated circuit includes a tuner and a SAW filter function. The tuner receives a radio frequency (RF) television signal that has a range of fundamental frequencies from 55 mega hertz (Mhz) to 880 Mhz. The tuner down converts the RF television signal to an intermediate frequency (IF) television signal that has a low fundamental frequency. In one embodiment, the SAWF filter performs the SAW filter function on the IF television signal. In another embodiment, the SAWF filter performs the SAW filter function at baseband. An IF processor for processing the IF television signal to generate a video television signal and an audio television signal is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4357631
Abstract: A ghost cancelling system is disclosed which includes an input terminal applied with a video signal including a ghost signal component, a ghost cancelling circuit connected to the input terminal, the ghost cancelling circuit including a transversal filter, and an output terminal connected to the ghost cancelling circuit for deriving an output video signal in which the ghost signal component is substantially suppressed. In this case, the transversal filter comprises the combination of a common delay circuit used for a signal delay circuit and for a demultiplexer circuit in time divisional manner, a memory circuit connected to the common delay circuit and activated when the common delay circuit is used for the demultiplexer circuit, and a weighting circuit connected between the memory circuit and the common delay circuit.

  • Patent number: 4344089
Abstract: A ghost cancelling system for eliminating a ghost by using a ghost cancelling signal formed from an input video signal including the ghost and adding the ghost cancelling signal to the input video signal. In this ghost cancelling system, the divergence of the ghost cancelling circuit is avoided during the transient time of the channel selection or during the ghost cancelling process, and when there is the possibility that the ghost cancelling circuit diverges, the circuit is firstly made operable as a feed-forward type circuit for a predetermined period and thereafter made operable as a feedback type circuit.

  • Patent number: 4007426
Abstract: An F-M demodulator circuit including a multivibrator and a differential amplifier that have common output electrodes and a capacitor thereacross demodulates a frequency modulated signal differentially applied to input electrodes of the amplifier. The state of conductivity of the multivibrator reverses at a fixed time after reversal of the state of conductivity of the differential amplifier. The capacitor is charged to opposite polarities alternately, according to the relative states of conductivity of the multivibrator and differentially amplifier, by constant current pulses of equal duration. A pulse signal based on the rate of occurrence of the charging pulses has a duty cycle linearly related to the frequency of the modulating signal, and filtering this pulse signal extracts the modulating signal.

  • Patent number: 3986051
Abstract: Signal switching apparatus is disclosed whereby a selected one of a plurality of supplied input signals is switched to an output terminal, including a switching circuit having plural input terminals for receiving the input signals and an output terminal to which a selected one of the received input signals is supplied; a control circuit coupled to the switching circuit and responsive to a control signal applied thereto for selectively actuating the switching circuit to thereby enable the switching circuit to supply one of the input signals to its output terminal; a clamping circuit coupled to the switching circuit and responsive to the control circuit for inhibiting the switching circuit from supplying more than one selected input signal to the output terminal; and an input signal supply circuit for supplying the plural input signals to the input terminals of the switching circuit.

  • Patent number: 3986048
Abstract: A non-linear amplifier is disclosed including an amplifying transistor for amplifying an input signal, an output amplified signal being derived from the amplifying transistor. A series of PN junctions is provided to supply a determined bias voltage to the amplifying transistor. An emitter-follower stage, comprised of at least one emitter-follower transistor amplifier, is connected to an input of the amplifying transistor for compensating the bias voltage applied thereto. In one embodiment, the input signal is amplified by a power of n wherein n PN junctions are connected in parallel with (n-1) emitter-follower transistor amplifiers. The input signal is supplied through the (n-1) emitter-followers to the base electrode of the amplifying transistor.
