  • Patent number: 9990874
Abstract: A method for testing a display includes capturing information displayed by the display at a location of an identifier displayed with a frame of a sequence of frames; and analysing the captured information. The method further includes determining a colour of the identifier; and using information on the determined colour to determine at least one of the following: a change of a frame in the sequence of frames displayed by the display; a timestamp of a frame in the sequence of frames displayed by the display; a frame of the sequence of frames not displayed by the display. An apparatus for implementing the method is also included.

  • Patent number: 9807384
Abstract: Testing a head mounted display includes capturing a set of images shown by a display element; moving the display; and receiving motion information of the movement. A moment of time of the movement is detected as a first time instance. Contents of at least two images of the set of images are compared to determine whether at least a part of the information shown by the display element has been moved to another location. The comparison results are provided as a motion information of the image content. Movement in the set of images is detected on the basis of the motion information of the image content. The moment of the movement in the set of images is detected as a second time instance. A motion to photon latency is determined on the basis of the time difference between the second time instance and the first time instance.

  • Patent number: 9787978
Abstract: There are disclosed various methods, apparatuses and computer program products for testing a display. In some embodiments an image sensor captures a rendered image from the display to form a captured image, the image sensor having a second resolution greater than the first resolution. The captured image is analyzed to find difference of orientation of the rendered image with respect to an orientation of the image sensor. A rotated image is formed on the basis of the analyzed difference of orientation to obtain orientation for the rotated image to correspond with the orientation of the image sensor. The rotated image is resampled to form a resampled image having the first resolution.

  • Patent number: 9729868
Abstract: Testing a video transmission system includes generating an optical signal and varying the colour by sweeping through a colour range. A first optical sensor captures the optical signal at intervals to generate frames. Transmitted frames are received by a second communication device. Received frames are provided to a display of the second communication device to reconstruct the frames. Colour information of frames displayed is obtained by a second optical sensor. Colour information of successive reconstructed frames is compared to determine deviation in capture rate of two successive frames of the first optical sensor, delay between capturing a frame by the first optical sensor and displaying the frame by the display, deviation in display rate of two successive frames displayed by the display and/or a loss of a frame. Audio information may be utilized in video and, conversational latency, synchronization between video and audio, and audio synchronization measurements.
