  • Publication number: 20150153458
Abstract: Apparatus comprises: one or more memories configured to store data sets for each of plural positioning satellites, the data set for a satellite comprising ephemeris extension data and data relating to a lifetime or expiry of the ephemeris extension data, wherein the data relating to a lifetime or expiry of the ephemeris extension data is different for at least two satellites; and one or more processors.

  • Patent number: 8462046
Abstract: For managing measurements on signals, a quality of received signals, for which a measurement circuit provides measurement results, is monitored. In the case that the quality does not exceed a set quality before an end of a reporting period, a reporting of measurement results that are available at the end of the reporting period is caused. In the case that the quality exceeds the set quality at a measurement instant before the end of the reporting period, the measurement circuit is put to a sleep mode and a reporting of extrapolated measurement results is caused, the extrapolated measurement results being measurement results from a measurement instant before the measurement circuit was put to a sleep mode extrapolated to the end of the reporting period.

  • Patent number: 8412108
Abstract: A method including: processing at a first processing frequency, such that each instance of processing is separated by a first processing time period, at least a first signal; increasing the processing frequency to a second processing frequency and switching from processing the first signal to processing a second signal; determining a parameter indicative of the quality of the second signal; and determining, within the first processing time period measured from the last instance of processing the first signal at the first frequency, which one or more signals to process at the next instance of processing by comparing respective parameters of at least the first and second signals.

  • Publication number: 20120276886
Abstract: In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a method and an apparatus are shown comprising receiving status information of an apparatus, and determining a probability for an update of information related to a position being obtained based on the status information. Based on the determined probability and an elapsed time since a last update of the information related to a position, it is determined whether to activate a receiver in order to obtain the update of information related to a position.

  • Patent number: 7751949
Abstract: The invention relates to a time and location dependent atmosphere model and especially determining the altitude of a mobile terminal based on this model and the measured barometric pressure at the location of the terminal. The atmosphere model provides a long term, wide area barometric pressure model estimate.
