The accounting method, system, device, and a computer-readable medium provide for measuring a time interval between arrival of two adjacent packets, comparing the measured time interval to a predetermined threshold, and determining whether the measured time interval is an active packet transfer time based on the comparison. Accordingly, an active packet transfer time in a connection is obtained.
