Abstract: Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, software, apps, and visualizations for floorspace management. In particular, some embodiments leverage mobile shopping and other technologies to identify when and where a customer selects items within a retail space and completes the purchase. This data is then stored and visualizations are generated from this data for areas and periods. Such embodiments enable identification of well-performing and under-performing areas of retail space based on criteria pertinent to the particular user.

Abstract: A base transaction User Interface (UI) is provided that provides transaction processing for transactions at transaction terminals. The base UI can be customized through independent and decoupled customization/extension files, which provide specific UI customizations for UI screen content, UI screen styles, UI screen views, UI screen workflows, and UI screen resource functionality. Customizations or extensions are achieved without modifying the base UI. The customizations or extensions are dynamically obtained during execution of the base UI from the corresponding files and processed by the base UI as user-defined custom overrides.

Abstract: An Augmented Reality (AR) wayfinder tracks the current location of a user within an indoor location relative to a path defined through the indoor location for the user. The path is broken into segments, each segment is a straight line between two nodes, and each node represents either a starting point in the path, a turn along the path, or an ending point in the path. As the user traverses the path, a remaining distance between the user device and the next node in the path is calculated. An AR object with attributes that correlate to the remaining distance to the next node is blended into and superimposed into a video that the user is viewing through the user device of the physical environment as the user travels along the path.

Abstract: An interface is rendered on a user-operated device. Selections are made with respect to a first set of options by the user operating the interface. A list of potential food dishes for further selection by the user is presented within the interface based on the selections. A food dish selection is received from the user through the interface. A recipe for the selected food dish is generated and presented within the interface based on the food dish selection and a list of ingredients needed for the recipe are generated as a shopping list for the user to obtain at a store. In an embodiment, a navigation route to obtain the ingredients within the store is provided to the user when the user is at the store, allowing the user to traverse the route within the store and obtain each of the ingredients.

Abstract: Three-dimensional (3D) model images for menu item are maintained in a content delivery network (CDN) along with codes. The codes are printed/affixed to menus adjacent to the menu items. The menus include an anchor object that is sized in proportion to plates that serve the menu items. A user operates an augmented reality (AR)-enabled application (app) and uses a gesture to identify a code associated with a menu item from a menu. The code is decoded to contact the CDN and obtain the 3D model image corresponding to the menu item. The user centers a view-finder over the anchor object on the menu and the 3D model image is rendered on the anchor object in a scaled size and a scaled proportion for what will be provided to the user. The user may spin the 3D model to inspect proportions and ingredients of the menu item through the app.

Abstract: Various embodiments include at least one of devices, systems, methods, and software systems and method enabling communication and signaling devices. One embodiment is in the form of a method that includes receiving, via a network, data from a mobile device of an authenticated customer, including data of items for purchase scanned by the mobile device and storing the data of the scanned items for purchase in a cart data structure associated with an account of the authenticated customer. The method also includes receiving, via the network, data indicating the mobile device is located at a pay station and payment data from the mobile device to pay for items represented in the cart data structure. This method further includes transmitting, via the network and in response to the received payment data, a payment confirmation to the mobile device generated upon successfully processing a payment for items in the cart data structure.

Abstract: An interface is rendered on a user-operated device. A shopping list of items defined by a user is obtained through the interface. A store associated with the items is identified and a tax jurisdiction for the store. Each item of the list is checked in inventory at the store, a set of substitute items are identified for each item, and available promotions are identified for each item and each substitute item. A total price for the list of the items that includes taxes in the jurisdiction of the store and includes any promotion pricing is provided to the user through the interface. The user can interact with the list through the interface to evaluate scenarios where the original list and/or a modified list meets a budget defined by the user or select an automatically determined list that identifies a lowest priced substitute for each item until the budget is met.

Abstract: Modular transaction terminal services are provided. The services are customized for specific features using configuration data maintained in files. The services communicate using a standardized data format and Application Programming Interface (API). An interface is provided for custom defining an instance of a processing environment for a target transaction terminal. Customizations are made to the files and process flow data structures that are processed by the services. The hardware requirements of the target transaction terminal are also obtained and an installation package is created for the target transaction terminal. The installation package is installed on hardware of the target transaction terminal and the processing environment initiated. The services, configuration data maintained in files, process flow data structures, and interface represent a modularized and customizable transaction terminal architecture.

Abstract: A managed device associated with an error code is identified. An animation associated with physically manipulating a component and parts of the component for the managed device is generated. The animation representing a workflow for resolving the error code. A live video feed of the managed device and the physical surroundings of the managed device is presented within an Augmented Reality (AR) interface on a mobile device operated by a support person. The animation is rendered over a portion of the live video feed for the support person to view while following the workflow and physically manipulating the component and parts of the managed device to resolve the error code.

Abstract: A customer logs into a desired retailer through a Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR) cross-retailer application (app). Preferences and/or a profile are obtained from the retailer via an Application Programming Interface (API). A customized VR/AR setting is rendered within the app based on the preferences and/or profile and a VR/AR session is initiated with the app. Consumable items and ingredients of each item are rendered as VR/AR selectable objects during the session for interaction by the customer and a custom item is made with selected ingredients. The customer purchases the item within the session and an order is placed with the retailer through the API. In an embodiment, an avatar of the customer and avatars of other customer placing orders with the retailer are rendered on a virtual floor or superimposed on an actual floor of the customer's physical environment within the app for social interaction and social network features.

Abstract: A touch field is created around a touchscreen display, the field is in front of a touch surface of the display and the field maps to locations on the display. An operator of a terminal during a transaction is presented with transaction interface screens that are visually rendered on the display. The operator makes interface options selections, performs screen navigation, and provides date entry field inputs by placing the operator's hand within the field without touching the touch surface of the display and making hand poses, hand movements, and/or hand gestures. The poses, movements, and/or gestures are translated into touch actions and touch inputs recognized by the transaction interface and processed as operator-provided input during the transaction.

Abstract: A platform for charitable integration processing is provided. A donor provides a source of valuable funds to fund a recipient digital wallet associated with a donation. The wallet is associated with a generated code and the code provided to the donor. The donor provides the code to a desired recipient and the recipient can redeem the donation via the code during online checkouts, during in-store checkouts, or during cash withdrawals from Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). In an embodiment the donor provides the code on print media to the recipient. In an embodiment, the donor provides the code as an image scanned by a device of the recipient off a display of a donor’s device.

Abstract: A virtual layaway service is provided. A user-facing interface to the service is accessed through a transaction interface associated with transaction terminals of a retailer or associated with mobile retail applications of the retailer provided on user-operated devices. The service flags transaction histories or records with items placed in layaway and payment progress made toward paying off the items using an existing transaction system and an existing loyalty system of the retailer. Customers can view payment progress, add new items to layaway, and make payments via the user-facing interface of the service. Angel donors also view the items designated for layaway and can make donations to specific items or all the items via the user-facing interface.

Abstract: A transaction session is established directly or indirectly between a wearable processing device and a cloud-based server of a store. During the session, items are recognized by placing the items in a field-of-view of a front-facing camera of the device. Item recognition does not require item barcode identification. A depth sensor associated with the camera creates a three-dimensional mapping of a given item. The mapping and image features are processed to uniquely identify the item even when the item is associated with a same category of items. Customer input during the session can be achieved through gestures (hand, eyes, head, fingers, etc.) and/or voice commands. The customer input is translated and mapped into transaction interface commands/options and processed during the session to select items, delete items, view a transaction receipt, identify a quantity of items, obtain item details for a given item, etc.

Abstract: Historical transaction loads for transactions of a store are determined. Constraints are obtained for staff of the store over a given period of time in the future. The historical loads are forecasted into projected transaction loads for the given period of time. The constraints are processed to generate a dispatch demand schedule for the staff over the given period of time. The dispatch demand schedule is translated into a staff/worker schedule and provided to a scheduling system of the store.

Abstract: During an in-store shopping journey of a customer, offers are identified based on a variety of personalized information known for the customer, known for the store, whether the customer is at a beginning or an end of their journey, items the customer is in process of buying during a self-checkout, items already in a basket of items for the customer, and/or items in close proximity to the customer’s location within the store. The offers are provided to the customer within an interface of the customer’s mobile shopping application or a Self-Service Terminal (SST). Any selected offer from the interface is automatically stored in an account of or a digital wallet of the customer or any selected offer is sent as a code to the customer’s mobile device. In an embodiment, stored offers are automatically added to a shopping list maintained for the customer for a next visit/journey to the store.

Abstract: Objects associated with a self-checkout area are identified and tracked through transaction data comprised of transaction details, device statuses, transaction interrupts/events, and video feeds during transactions on Self-Service Terminals (SSTs). Selective objects and selective transaction data are correlated together in a group for each transaction. Actions required of an attendant who is managing the transactions are identified for each group. An Augmented Reality (AR) interface is provided on an attendant-operated device that visually and uniquely identifies the actions, each group requiring a given action, and each object of each group that is to be the subject of the given action. In an embodiment, remote verification, audit, and override actions are processed through gestures made by the attendant and detected by the AR interface.
