Abstract: A method for electronically processing change in a cash transaction includes: storing a plurality of account profiles, each profile including data related to a consumer including a phone number associated with a mobile communication device and a currency amount; receiving a short message service (SMS) message from a first phone number associated with a first mobile communication device, the message including a second phone number and a change amount; identifying a first account profile where the included phone number corresponds to the first phone number; identifying a second account profile where the included phone number corresponds to the second phone number; transferring the change amount included in the received SMS message from the first account profile to the second account profile; and transmitting an SMS message to the second phone number, the message including a notification of the transfer of the change amount to the second account profile.

Abstract: A system and method for registering a payment card so that if the payment card is lost, a replacement payment card can quickly and easily be reported, and shipment of a replacement payment card can be initiated. The location to which the replacement payment card is to be shipped can be specified, and an estimate can be received for its time of arrival at that location. The estimated time of arrival of the replacement card can be updated with real time information.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for use in notifying consumer of benefits associated with payment accounts, in connection with payment account transactions. One exemplary method includes initially identifying, at a computing device, a transaction to a payment account where the transaction involves a merchant. The method also includes accessing, by the computing device, a benefit data structure for the payment account and determining, by the computing device, whether a relevant benefit is included in the benefit data structure for the payment account. The method then includes transmitting, by the computing device, a notification to the consumer regarding the relevant benefit, in connection with the identified transaction, whereby the consumer is permitted to avoid purchasing a benefit product from the merchant, which is at least partially duplicative of the relevant benefit.

Abstract: A mobile communication device transaction systems and methods for travelers using mass-transit vehicles and facilities are disclosed. Exemplary servers are for connection to a mobile communication device that includes a travel transaction application identifying at least one traveler, payment information, and trip information. The servers receive the traveler, payment information, and trip information and define at least one traveler product purchase offer, based on the traveler and the trip information. The servers further cause the traveler product purchase offer to be sent to the mobile communication device travel transaction application for display on the mobile communication device. The servers also cause a payment transaction to be made using the identified payment information after the servers receive a purchase order from the mobile communication device for the traveler product purchase offer.

Abstract: A method for processing a gift card request includes: receiving, by a receiving device, a gift card request, wherein the gift card request includes at least a merchant identifier, a gift amount, a payment account identifier, and a recipient; processing, by a processing device, a payment transaction for the gift amount from a payment account associated with the payment account identifier to a merchant account associated with the merchant identifier; identifying, by the processing device, a gift card number; associating, in a database, the identified gift card number with the merchant identifier and the gift amount such that payment transactions involving the identified gift card number are charged to the merchant account; and transmitting, by a transmitting device, the identified gift card number to the recipient.
