  • Patent number: 11979243
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for supporting a two-stage device-to-device (D2D) discovery using a D2D interworking function (IWF). A D2D IWF component may be configured to perform mapping between an application running on an application server and a third generation partnership project (3GPP) network, and provide a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) to allow discovery to be provided as a service to D2D applications. An application identifier may be mapped to a 3GPP identifier. Further, a method and apparatus are described for performing client-server discovery. A first wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured for a listen-only operation, and a second WTRU may be configured to transmit beacons. • Publication number: 20230225935
Abstract: A chest compression device includes a piston to apply compression to the sternum and incorporates leaf springs simultaneously driven by the piston to apply lateral compression to the thorax during chest compressions. A motor in the chest compression device provides motive power to cyclically extend and contract the piston to provide therapeutic chest compressions. One end of each leaf spring is operably connected to the piston and the other end of each leaf spring is secured to the backboard/base or to a support leg of the chest compression device such that during extension of the piston, each leaf spring is compressed against the device base or leg which causes the springs to flex and provide lateral compression of the patient's thorax in addition to the sternal compression of the piston.

  • Publication number: 20230096633
Abstract: Embodiments generate an optimized demand model for a retail item. Embodiments train a tree ensemble machine learning model comprising a plurality of trees, the training comprising storing upper bounds for each of the trees, the trees comprising levels and branches that correspond to the demand features that influence demand for the item. Embodiments generate an objective function for the demand model. At a top split of each tree, embodiments determine optimal child nodes using the stored upper bounds and calculate a new feasible region for each tree. Using bounds on the new feasible region, embodiments move down each tree to a next level of splits and generate the optimized demand model when a leaf node of every tree has been reached.

  • Patent number: 11501763
Abstract: Embodiments provide systems and methods for navigating a dialogue flow using a trained intelligence bot. Upon initiation of a chat session between a user and a trained intelligence bot, one or more utterances can be received. The utterances can be processed using the trained intelligence bot to resolve an intent from among a plurality of predefined intents, where the intelligence bot is trained to resolve predefined intents based on training data associated with the predefined intents. A predefined dialogue flow associated with the resolved intent can be navigated using the intelligence bot, where the intelligence bot guides the user through the dialogue flow using context variables that are associated with the user or the chat session. The user can be provided enterprise data retrieved by the intelligence bot using a retrieval request generated based on one or more of the navigation of the dialogue flow or the context variables.

  • Publication number: 20220335703
Abstract: Devices, methods, and non-transitory program storage devices are disclosed herein to provide improved region of interest (ROI) tracking, image framing, and distortion correction for wide field of view (FOV) video image streams. The techniques disclosed may be configured, such that the image framing decisions made over the course of a captured wide FOV video image stream are able to be panned smoothly and seamlessly transition between framing a narrower portion of a wide angle camera's FOV to framing a wider portion of the wide angle camera's FOV (or vice versa), e.g., depending on the composition and movement of relevant subjects in the captured scene. The techniques disclosed herein may also be used to perform any distortion correction desired on the framed image portions in the output video image stream, e.g., based on the image portions' FOVs and/or the locations of the portions within the original wide FOV video image stream.

  • Patent number: 11270326
Abstract: Embodiments determine a price schedule for an item by, for each item, receiving a set of prices for the item, an inventory quantity for the item, a per-segment demand model for the item, and an objective function that is a function of the per-segment demand model and maximizes revenue based at least on a probability of a return of the item and a cost of the return. Embodiments allocate the inventory quantity among a plurality of customer segments based at least on a predicted contribution of each customer segment to the objective function. Embodiments determine a markdown portion of the price schedule for the item that maximizes the objective function, where the markdown portion assigns a series of prices selected from the set of prices for respective time periods during a clearance season for the item.

  • Patent number: RE48835
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards a controller that provides individual network accessibility to a storage drive. The controller may include a first connector operative to couple with a storage-drive connector, a second connector operative to couple with a backplane connector of a multi-storage-drive chassis, memory, and processor. The controller may convert communication received through the first connector into an Ethernet protocol for output through the second connector, and convert communication received through the second connector into a storage-drive protocol for output through the first connector. A physical shape of the controller may fit adjacent to the storage-drive connector and occupy less space than is bounded by peripheral edges of an end of a separate housing of a storage drive coupled to the storage-drive connector. The controller may manage power provided to the storage drive and may coordinate with other controllers to manage power-up sequences of multiple storage drives.
