Abstract: A dispensing package comprising a container having a neck with an external thread defining an opening and a closure comprising a base wall and a peripheral skirt having internal threads engaging the external threads on the neck of the container. An inner member has a peripheral flange engaging the neck of the container and interposed between the neck and the base wall of the closure. The inner member includes a measuring portion defining a cavity for a predetermined quantity of the contents of the material. The base wall is made of flexible and elastic material and an integral plunger extends axially from the underside of the base wall and has an enlarged end normally sealingly closing an inlet port in the inner member. A hinge top is provided that seals a dispensing opening in the base wall.

Abstract: A closure system featuring a closure having a top wall, a plurality of pillars spaced around the periphery of and depending downwardly from the top wall, and means connecting the lower ends of the pillars. Thread means are formed on the interior surface of at least some of the pillars, and extend inwardly to cooperate with thread means on the neck of a container to bring and maintain the top wall into a sealing relationship with the neck.

Abstract: A system for metering and dispensing product from a container is illustrated in an embodiment in which a closure, for a container having a neck portion, has a discharge port with a spout pivotally supported in the port. The spout has a top wall which closes the port and has spaced opposed depending side walls which extend into the container when the spout is in the closed position. The side walls have matching curvilinear edges. A valve member is supported in the container so that the spout can be moved into and out of registration with it. The valve member has a curvilinear surface that conforms to and mates with the curvilinear edges of the side walls when they are in registration to define a closed dispensing chamber having a predetermined measure of product therein. The spout is filled when out our registration with the valve member.

Abstract: A child-resistant package with a snap-on closure comprising a container having a neck finish including an annular retaining bead having at least one notch therein, a closure having a top and a peripheral skirt, the skirt having a lifting tab on the outer surface thereof and a first radially inwardly extending locking lug on the inner surface thereof adjacent the external lifting tab. The skirt includes a portion defining a tamper indicating tab having a radially inwardly extending lug thereon spaced circumferentially from the locking lug on the closure such that when the locking lug is aligned with a notch in the first annular bead, the closure cannot be removed until the tab portion of the band having the lug thereon is severed from the skirt of the closure and freeing the closure so that the lug on the tab portion will not interfere with removal of the closure.
