Patent number: 12458748Abstract: A connector retains a medicine reservoir in a housing. The connector snaps onto the reservoir, the connector and reservoir are inserted into an aperture in the housing, and the connector snaps into the aperture in the housing. The connector may have a tubing and needle fixed in it to insert into the reservoir. The connector does not require a particular orientation when snapped into the housing and some embodiments may rotate freely. When snapped into the housing, the connector provides an auditory cue. For removal of the connector and reservoir, the exposed portion of the connector is compressed from the side. The configuration of the connector solves several problems associated with threaded connectors or other similar connectors.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2022Date of Patent: November 4, 2025Inventor: Kirk D. Ramey

Publication number: 20250177716Abstract: Multi-medicament infusion systems prevent the cross-channeling of medicaments. The system may include one or more of an infusion pump, medicament reservoirs, collars, a multi-channel fluid conduit, and an infusion set. The medicament reservoirs and/or collars may be sized and shaped differently such that the medicament reservoirs can only be inserted into the system selected configurations.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2024Publication date: June 5, 2025Inventors: Edward R. Damiano, Firas H. El-Khatib, Rajendranath Selagamsetty, Kirk D. Ramey

Publication number: 20240050652Abstract: A multi-medicament infusion system (10) for preventing the mischanneling of medicaments may include an infusion pump (12), medicament reservoirs (16A,16B), a multi-channel lumen (18), and an infusion set (20). The medicament reservoirs may be sized and shaped differently such that the medicament reservoirs can only be inserted into the infusion pump in a unique configuration. The multi-channel lumen may include connectors that mate to corresponding connectors on the infusion pump and the infusion set only in a unique configuration. Because the various parts of the multi-infusion system may only be connected in the unique configuration, the expected medicaments may be administered appropriately and channeled to the correct infusion sites.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2023Publication date: February 15, 2024Inventors: Edward R. Damiano, Kirk D. Ramey, Firas H. El-Khatib
