  • Patent number: 6217178
Abstract: A method of fabricating glass or other transparent material second surface reflectors for solar energy concentrating systems, with attachment devices affixed to the back of the mirror. The attachment devices are used to attach the reflector to a supporting frame. The silver or other reflecting material that the forms the reflecting surface is removed in a small area so the attachment device can be affixed directly to the glass or other transparent material rather than to one or more layers of reflecting materials and protective coatings. The reflecting surface of a glass mirror is usually protected by one or more layers of protective coating. This results in one or more interfaces between the glass and the adhesive used to affix the attaching device. Each interface can present an area for inconsistent bonding. Removing the reflecting surface and protective coatings thus provides for a stronger bond than might be achieved by attaching the attachment device to the protective coatings.

  • Patent number: 5895080
Abstract: Improvements in child-resistant latches which require adult length fingers to operated include a spring loaded movable shield covering the finger hole and separating the inside from the outside of the cabinet so items in the cabinet are not accessible through the finger entry hole, a variable length finger passageway which can be changed without jeopardizing the basic security of the cabinet, and means of clarifying operating instructions by identifying the inside location of the latch operating lever on the outside of the door.
