  • Publication number: 20020114091
Abstract: A clamping and support apparatus, for mounting on a tubular shaft, is usable as part of a vehicle side mirror assembly. The clamping and support apparatus includes a clamping member having an open configuration and a closed configuration and including a base having a raised boss thereon with an integral furrow formed therein to receive a side of a tubular shaft. The integral furrow is arcuate in cross-section, and the base further has a first flange extending outwardly thereon adjacent the raised boss. The clamping member also includes a cap including a half sleeve having an interior and an exterior, the half sleeve being integrally formed with the base and cooperating therewith to define a hollow space therebetween, the half sleeve further being attached to the raised boss at a side of the integral furrow. The clamping member has a V-shaped groove formed therein at the attachment of the half sleeve to the base, the V-shaped groove facing toward and communicating with the hollow space in the clamping member.

  • Patent number: 5984496
Abstract: A mirror assembly, such as is used for school busses and similar vehicles, includes a mirror head including a mirror surface and a housing. The mirror surface and the housing define a hollow interior. A light bulb is provided in the hollow interior. The housing is translucent so light from the bulb can be seen outside the housing. The light bulb can be electrically connected to various elements of the vehicle's electrical system, such as turn signals, flashers, and/or headlights.

  • Patent number: 5276310
Abstract: An electrically heated toolbox for heating hand tools that have been stored or used in a cold environment. The toolbox is a multiple drawer container which has installed therein heating sheets integrally connected to an outside electrical power source, alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC). The heating sheets warm the hand tools by radiated heat or direct heat when the heating sheets are connected to the outside power source. A desired temperature may be obtained by using the rheostat temperature setting device. The toolbox may be connected to a standard AC plug connection, a DC vehicle battery or, if desired, a cigarette lighter outlet of a vehicle.
