  • Publication number: 20060052152
Abstract: Inexpensive yet effective three-dimensional image displays for gaming machines are disclosed. Images are implemented onto a medium via a lenticular process, and the medium is applied to various gaming machine surfaces whereby a viewer can perceive effects such as motion and depth. Steps can include developing a game theme, designing visual images for this game theme, generating digital files containing these visual images, previewing these digital files, modeling the visual images in a computer assisted simulation, implementing these visual images onto a medium, attaching the medium to a movable base, and installing the movable base to the gaming machine. The medium can be a multi-image sheet containing regions of overlapping images where different images are visually predominant at different viewing angles, and the movable base can comprise a gaming reel. Multiple gaming reels can be used, and can be adapted to rotate in any direction.

  • Publication number: 20060046821
Abstract: A gaming device system in which a plurality of gaming devices are linked by a common bonus event is provided. In one embodiment, the linked gaming device system includes a shared symbol generation display that is positioned adjacent to each of a plurality of associated gaming devices and has a plurality of sections and values displayed at each section. Upon a triggering of the bonus event, any player eligible to participate in the bonus may achieve an outcome generated from the bonus event including the shared display. When the shared display is activated, it simultaneously generates a separate or individual outcome associated with each of the gaming devices. The outcomes are spatially related to one another so that a random generation of an outcome associated with one gaming device automatically generates random outcomes associated with each gaming device. Each gaming device however receives the outcome only if it has participated in the random generation.

  • Patent number: 6886896
Abstract: A gaming device and more specifically a front door of a gaming device that has a moveable and/or removable bolster that swings out of the way, so that an operator may open the door without the bolster hitting the bolster of an adjacent gaming device. The front door is pivotally connected to the gaming device using one or more hinges and facilitates access to the interior of the gaming machine. The moveable and/or removable bolster pivotally attaches to the door. In one preferred embodiment, when unlocked, the bolster automatically swings open to a preliminary angle, whereby the operator lifts the bolster to the predefined operating angle. In one alternative embodiment, when unlocked, the bolster automatically swings open to the predefined operating angle.

  • Publication number: 20050064942
Abstract: A modular cabinet for use with a gaming device. The gaming device modular cabinet includes a display cabinet removably connected to a component cabinet by a locking mechanism. The cabinets are preferably made of rolled steel, where the display cabinet is adapted to receive at least the display, while the component cabinet is adapted to receive the components for the gaming device other than the display. In a preferred embodiment, the present invention includes laminated side panels connected to the display and component cabinets. The gaming device further includes a monitor cover removably connected to the display cabinet.

  • Publication number: 20050064941
Abstract: A method of assembling a gaming device including providing a cabinet including a first side wall and an opposing second side wall and removably connecting a first side panel including a decorative layer to the first side wall of the cabinet. The method includes removably connecting a second side panel including a decorative layer to the second side wall of the cabinet. The method includes securing the first side panel to the first side wall from inside of the cabinet and securing the second side panel to the second side wall from inside of said cabinet, where the first and second panels can only be unsecured from the first and second side walls, respectively, from inside of the cabinet. The method includes movably connecting a lockable door to the cabinet, where the lockable door is movable to allow access to the inside of said cabinet.
