Publication number: 20180041633Abstract: A system and method for handling mobile or text messages that include an original uniform resource locator (“URL”) replace the original uniform resource locator (“URL”) included in a body of the mobile message with a new replacement URL. Mobile messages may be sent to a mobile subscriber from a variety of sources, including other mobile subscribers both in and out of a carrier network, or from sources (e.g., a computer, etc.) outside of the carrier network. According to various implementations of the invention, when the mobile message is received by the carrier network (e.g., at a gateway to the carrier network or within the carrier network itself) the mobile message is scanned for a URL. If a URL is included in the mobile message, a replacement URL is generated and the original URL from the mobile message is replaced with the replacement URL. The original URL is stored and associated with the replacement URL for subsequent access and retrieval.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2017Publication date: February 8, 2018Inventors: Adrian Carlton VELTHUIS, Ipai Terry HSIAO, Kirk TSAI, Michael Leonard SULLIVAN

Publication number: 20140006517Abstract: The invention pertains to systems and method for social invitation to facilitate playing and interaction of a mobile application or mobile game on a mobile device without logging into a 3rd party social networking site. A social invitation system is provided for one or more mobile devices in communication with a remote Application Growth Engine (AGE) server, via a communication network. The AGE server is provided with an AGE algorithm to create social graph associations based on address book contacts captured from an address book resident on the mobile device, and in response to a request for social invitations from the mobile device, to generate a list of recommended invitations of target users based on user social graph associations so that a user at the mobile device can invite friends, family, and colleagues from the address book to download the mobile app/game in order to facilitate playing and interaction of the mobile application or mobile game on the user's mobile device.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2012Publication date: January 2, 2014Inventors: Terry Hsiao, Kirk Tsai

Patent number: 8045567Abstract: Network System and Method for facilitating message exchange between mobile subscribers belonging to the same or different public land mobile networks, possibly incorporating different standards. Message exchange between two subscribers of the same or different networks may involve one or more lookups on subscription data, zero or more message transformations, one or more routing decisions including application of costing functions, and, storage and propagation of the message in one or more Core or Intermediary networks. The messages may be of type, among others, SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Message Service), or EMAIL.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2005Date of Patent: October 25, 2011Assignee: Sybase 365, Inc.Inventors: Venkatesh (Ven) Chava, Christian Zimmern, Robert Lovell, Kirk Tsai
