  • Patent number: 9858756
Abstract: A total money management system for integrating numerous stand-alone components designed to validate, track and secure gaming currency from the table to back-of-house is provided. Utilizing RFID enabled casino currency, an RFID chip tray, a bill validator, RFID readers and antennas, inventory system and chip authentication network, the total money management system of the present disclosure provides casinos with a cash and chip tracking and reporting tool that will improve table performance and streamline the numerous at-table and back-of-house manual money management processes and procedures.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 22, 2013
Date of Patent: January 2, 2018
Assignee: Gaming Partners International USA, Inc.
Inventors: Emmanuel Gelinotte, Gregory Scott Gronau, Kirsten Clark, Scott McCarthy
  • Patent number: 9213933
Abstract: The present invention provides value tokens having improved security while achieving enhanced decorative effects, contrasting edge “spots”, increased physical weight, and flexibility of construction and design. Stacked structures formed from pluralities of layers are featured.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 9, 2013
Date of Patent: December 15, 2015
    Assignee: Gaming Partners International Corporation

  • Patent number: 9183479
Abstract: Value tokens, e.g. gaming chips, are formed with a slug having an RFID microchip embedded or encapsulated inside and an EM coil either embedded or encapsulated inside or wrapped around the periphery of the slug. The slug is formed by injection molding two plastic halves with a spacing therebetween for accepting the RFID microchip. The plastic halves are formed from weighted plastic including fillers such as copper, brass and/or tungsten to add extra weight to the plastic halves. The EM coil is placed on the same radius as the RFID antenna within the gaming chip or at a radius outside the RFID antenna to as to minimize interference between the RFID and EM signals by minimizing the metal in the EM field. For example, the EM coil may be wound within a groove around the outer periphery of the slug.

  • Publication number: 20140339107
Abstract: An RFID plaque box provides secure storage and protection of value tokens (e.g., gaming plaques and jetons) of all sizes and shapes (e.g., rectangular, square, oval or round) and delivers real-time counting and movement details in both high and low frequency RF environments. The RFID plaque box allows plaques or jetons to be accounted for as part of the table's inventory along with the RFID chip tray's inventory (when installed). The RFID plaque box is provided as a fixed storage area that is situated below the plan of the gaming table alongside the RFID chip tray (when provided) with a lid very similar to that of the RFID chip tray or provided in a pop-up mechanism whereby the RFID plaque box is integrated into a gaming table such that when the top surface of the RFID plaque box is pushed, the RFID plaque box will pop-up to lift the stacks of plaques or jetons for access.
