  • Patent number: 6538639
Abstract: A multi-direction input device includes first and second association members having holes formed therethrough at the positions thereof where they overlap each other in an intersecting state, a case for turnably suspending the first and second association members, and a lever member inclinably supported by the case and inserted into the holes. First and second actuating sections are formed on the first and second association members, respectively. When the lever member is inclined, the first actuating section is turned together with the first association member and the second actuating section is turned together with the second association member. Further, the case is provided with a first turn detecting unit for detecting the turn of the first actuating section and a second turn detecting unit for detecting the turn of the second actuating section.

  • Patent number: 6392168
Abstract: A rotary encoder including a code member having an annular plate-shaped portion and a plurality of tongues formed as a result of bending from the plate-shaped portion. The code member is formed of a metallic plate. The code member is mounted to the rotary member so that the tongues are positioned at the circumferential surface of the rotary member, and the plate-shaped portion is positioned at an end surface of the rotary member. This makes it possible to provide a low-cost rotary encoder of reduced size.

  • Patent number: 6211474
Abstract: A multi-input switch according to the present invention, the rotatively-operated electronic component is arranged in a direction of the rotation axis of an operation member while switches are arranged in the direction perpendicular to it. By the rotational movement of the operation member, the rotatively-operated electronic component is operated via the shaft member while by the perpendicular movement of the operation member, the shaft is tilted to operate the switches, so that the entire rotatively-operated electronic component does not move to improve the space-saving factor enabling the switch to be miniaturized.
