  • Patent number: 5925295
Abstract: A pre-plasticizing type injection molding machine includes a plasticizing device for plasticizing a molding material supplied from a hopper by a first screw disposed within a first barrel, an injection device 8 for measuring a molten resin supplied from the plasticizing device 5 and for injecting the measured molten resin by a second screw disposed within a second barrel. A switching valve is provided in a resin passage between a resin outlet of the plasticizing device and a resin inlet of the injection device, and an accumulation device is provided for housing a pushing plunger having a stock chamber communicated with the resin passage at a position between the switching valve 10 and the resin outlet of the plasticizing device.

  • Patent number: 5370456
Abstract: A kneading apparatus includes a plurality of rotatable discs mounted on a screw shaft disposed on a hollow cylinder and a plurality of fixed doughnut members mounted on an inner wall of the hollow cylinder. The rotatable discs and fixed doughnut members are arranged alternately in an extending direction of the screw shaft. Projected portions and recessed portions extending radially and alternately arranged in a circumferential direction are formed on opposing side faces of the rotatable disc and fixed doughnut members in such a manner that the depths thereof are increased in proportion to the distance from a center of the screw shaft. Accordingly, the kneading apparatus is allowed to have a small construction and yet capable of efficiently kneading the material. In addition, material is prevented from remaining locally in the apparatus, and thereby a proper shear force is applied to the entire material.

  • Patent number: 4408887
Abstract: A continuous kneader comprising a rotary screw shaft and rotatable within a cylinder for transporting a fluid axially thereof, rotary disks mounted on the shaft and each formed on each side surface thereof with radial projections and recesses arranged alternately, and fixed disks provided on the cylinder and arranged on the opposite sides of each rotary disk coaxially therewith as opposed thereto. Each of the fixed disks is formed on each side surface thereof with radial projections and recesses arranged alternately. The boundary between and defining each projection and the recess adjacent thereto on at least one of the rotary disk and the fixed disk is inclined from the radial direction so that the material supplied from a space between the shaft and the inner surface of the cylinder to the space between the rotary disk and the fixed disk is passed over the rotary disk outer periphery toward the axis of the shaft into the space between the rotary disk and the fixed disk immediately adjacent thereto.

  • Patent number: 4067553
Abstract: A continuous kneader includes a screw shaft rotatable within a cylinder, and rotatable disks fixedly mounted on the shaft for rotation therewith. Stationary disks are arranged in face-to-face opposed relation to the rotatable disks. Each of the opposed surfaces of the disks is formed with alternating ridges and furrows. The material is passed between the opposed disk surfaces while being subjected alternately to compressive and shearing forces. Grooves are formed in the inner peripheral surface of the stationary disk and a screw section is carried on the adjacent outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft to promote the axial advance of the material through the device.
