Patent number: 9486265Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a tool for injecting a bonding agent into the prepared end of a bone for bonding a joint replacement device to the bone. The tool incorporates vented cells for containing the bonding agent. Force is applied to the back of the tool, while placing the front of the tool filled with bonding agent against the prepared bone area. The force causes the cells to cut into the end of the prepared bone. The force also causes the bonding agent to be forced deep into the cuts and pores of the bone.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2016Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: TIPIRNENI SOFTWARE LLCInventor: Kishore Tipirneni

Publication number: 20150223843Abstract: An improved bone screw is disclosed which includes a shaft with distal portion having a threaded surface thereon, a sleeve having an opening which receives the shaft such that the shaft is able to move within the sleeve without moving the sleeve. A compressive device may be incorporated between the sleeve and the proximal portion of the shaft such that the compressive device forces the shaft and sleeve towards at least a portion each other, thereby maintaining the compressive load at the union of the fracture. As additional compression is exerted on the load from weight bearing, the force may be reduced, but the head of the sleeve is still substantially maintained against the lateral cortex.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 10, 2015Publication date: August 13, 2015Applicant: OrthoIP, LLCInventors: Kishore Tipirneni, Wayne Vassello

Patent number: 8679167Abstract: A system and method for facilitating the fixation of bone fractures is disclosed. The head component includes a tip, cutting threads and mating threads which are inserted into the far cortex of the bone. A wire extends from the head component and exits from the near cortex. A cap device includes a tension spring, wherein the tension spring is configured to assert friction against the wire when the cap is translated in one direction, but minimal friction against the wire when the cap is translated in the opposite direction. The cap is threaded over the wire such that the cap is restricted from backwards movement. Tension is then applied to the wire while the cap is tightened against or within the bone surface to apply an appropriate amount of pressure between the surfaces of the fracture. The excess wire beyond the cap can then be removed.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2007Date of Patent: March 25, 2014Assignee: Orthoip, LLCInventors: Kishore Tipirneni, Wayne Vassello

Patent number: 8109936Abstract: The invention facilitates the fixation of bone fractures. In particular, the invention relates to a cap that has an inside surface comprising an interface component that is operable to engage a flexible wire. The flexible wire is connected to a head component that engages a first bone fragment. The outside surface of the cap may include cutting threads to facilitate attachment to a second bone fragment. A tensioner may be used to exert tension on the wire, the cap and the head component, thereby drawing the first bone fragment to the second bone fragment. In various embodiments, the cap is a planar disk that has a central hole that restricts backward translation and expands when the cap is translating down a wire.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2009Date of Patent: February 7, 2012Assignee: Orthoip, LLCInventor: Kishore Tipirneni

Patent number: 8059297Abstract: A digital camera containing patient images is connected to an uploader computer and the patient's name or history is entered into the uploader computer. The uploader computer then connects to the Internet, connects to the secure host server, uploads the images to the host server and shuts down the Internet connection. After the physician selects a medical facility and the system verifies the physician's user I.D. and password, the host server constructs an HTML web page which includes a list of patients whose images were previously uploaded by the medical facility and are available for viewing The physician simply selects the name of a patient and the host server displays the patient information and images on the physician's computer. The system is password-protected at all levels and the operator for each medical facility determines who may have access to the medical facility images.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2009Date of Patent: November 15, 2011Assignee: Merge Healthcare IncorporatedInventor: Kishore Tipirneni

Patent number: 7901412Abstract: The invention facilitates the fixation of bone fractures. In a particular embodiment, a method for fixing bone fractures comprises the steps of: inserting a head component coupled to a wire through a first bone portion and anchoring the head component in a second bone portion, inserting a cap over the wire toward the head component until the cap contacts the second bone portion, and applying pressure to the wire using a tensioner to reduce the distance between the first bone portion and the second bone portion. The excess wire beyond the cap can then be removed.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2009Date of Patent: March 8, 2011Assignee: Orthoip, LLCInventor: Kishore Tipirneni
