  • Patent number: 8437017
Abstract: Print data for display in which an operation screen of a multifunction periphery is described in a page-description language is created and outputted to an external memory medium. Specifically, the print data for display includes a screen description section 51 where an image is described by vector information and a function description section 52 where a function of the operation screen (operation when the operation button is pressed) is described by PJL. In another multifunction periphery, a bitmap image of an operation screen 60 is created and displayed by rasterizing the screen description section 51 of the print data for display read from the external memory medium, and the function of the operation screen is reproduced from information of the function description section 52.

  • Patent number: 8159717
Abstract: Combining section 21 creates the composite image data by combining the image data of the original image and the additional image, and log management section 22 stores the condition of composite images at the time of image combining as log information 40. Printer section 18 prints the composite image based on the composite image data, and a scanner section 16 optically reads the printed composite image. Judgment section 23 judges the condition of adding the additional image in the composite image (presence or absence of overlapping, etc.,) based on stored log information 40 and on the image data obtained by reading out the composite image, and notification control section 24 notifies the user of the judgment result either by displaying or by printing out.

  • Patent number: 8045209
Abstract: Detection section 22 detects the blank space area in each page for all pages of the document, determining section 23 determines image size for combining a designated stamp image in uniform size in all the pages of that document based on a detection result by detection section 22. Combining section 24 combines the stamp image determined by determining section 23 in each page of the document. For example, size of the maximum blank space area which can fit within blank space areas of all pages of the document in uniform size, is sought, image combining is carried out with an original size if the original size of the stamp image is not larger than the maximum blank space area size, and the stamp image is combined to be in a reduced size so that it fits within the maximum blank space area size if the original size of the stamp image exceeds the maximum blank space area size.

  • Patent number: 5366291
Abstract: In a device for sensing a temperature of a fixing roller, a thermistor is provided on a flat upper surface of a support member made of a foamed silicone material, with a heat conductive material provided between them. A heatproof protective sheet is wrapped around so that the thermistor is partially sunk into the support member by the tightness of the wrapping. The heat conductive material is thereby deformed to the thermistor's shape. At the same time, the top part of the thermistor is always protruded from the upper part of the support member. A holder keeps this construction in contact with the circumferential surface of the fixing roller.

  • Patent number: 5162855
Abstract: A copying machine for reproducing an image with toner on a recording sheet. The copying machine has a photoreceptor to hold a latent image corresponding to the image on its surface, in which the surface is charged to a predetermined electric potential before holding the latent image. The latent image is developed with toner, transferred onto the recording sheet, and fixed on the recording sheet with heat. The heater of the copying machine heats up the fixing unit to a predetermined temperature, and terminates heating the fixing unit when an operation of the machine is ended. The copying machine has a capability to detect a temperature of the fixing unit and determining an interval between the time when the operation is ended and the time when the operation is restarted, based on the determined temperature of the fixing unit.
