    Abstract: A process for preparing a trifluorovinylsilane represented by the general formula:(CF.sub.2 .dbd.CF).sub.n SiR.sub.4-n (I)where each R independently represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, and n is an integer of 1 to 4, which comprises the reaction of chlorotrifluoroethylene with a chlorosilane represented by the general formula:Cl.sub.n SiR.sub.4-n (II)where R and n are as defined above, in the presence of an alkyllithium. Also disclosed is a fluorine-containing polymer represented by the general formula: ##STR1## where each of x and m is an integer other than O, y is an integer including O, and each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 is a lower alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, which is prepared by polymerization of a trifluorovinyl silane (I) with active fluoride-ion generating catalyst.
