  • Patent number: 5156464
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus capable of manually adjusting a gap between a print head and a platen so as to prevent a print operation from being executed when the gap is outside of an appropriate range for a paper being used. The position of the print head can be manually adjusted by use of an adjusting lever. Further, the print head can be moved by a step motor under the control of a CPU to adjust the gap. After the gap adjustment is accomplished by the adjusting lever, the CPU causes the print head to shift toward a rear standard position and stores the count N1 of driving pulses required for the shift movement. The set printing gap is detected on the basis of this value N1. The print head is then moved until it contacts the printing sheet and a count N2 of driving pulses required for the contact movement is stored in the memory of the CPU. The paper thickness is measured on the basis of this value N2.

  • Patent number: 4957381
Abstract: A paper feeding control device for use in conjunction with a recording apparatus controls the feeding of a web of paper having in succession a plurality of equi-length segmental sheets each defining one page and being adapted to be cut along a transversal cutting line from the rest of the web in such a manner that from a position wherein a first line of a new page confronts a printing head, the web of paper is advanced until the cutting line of a leading page is positioned in alignment with a cutter when it is confirmed that no printing is carried out for the next page. The printed page can now be cut off by the cutter.

  • Patent number: 4637742
Abstract: A wire drive circuit in an impact dot-matrix printer, having plural solenoids for actuating print wires, a first switching element connected commonly to one ends of the solenoids, plural second switching elements connected in series to the other ends of the solenoids, and a DC power supply connected to the first switching element and to the second switching elements, for selectively energizing the solenoids by turning on the first switching element and the respective one of the second switching elements.

  • Patent number: 4008372
Abstract: A TV camera wherein both the lens and its control system are completely enclosed in a casing of the camera to protect them from dust, dirt and damage. Massive control knobs are secured on the side wall of the casing for controlling the focus and the zoom. The iris is cable driven by a linear control mounted on the side wall of the casing and the indication of the iris setting is provided on the rear control panel having a viewfinder. A self-balancing cradle mount supports the camera slightly above its center of gravity. Independent pan and tilt friction adjustments can lock the camera in any desired position. A pan and tilt handle is located at the rear of the control panel.
