Abstract: A display and touch panel support system for a portable computer wherein a display and touch panel unit is connected by connecting arms to a keyboard unit in such a way that the display and touch panel may be moved from an open position to one of two closed positions over the keyboard unit with either the display and touch panel facing outwardly or facing toward the keyboard unit.

Abstract: A facsimile apparatus includes a sheet carrier path adapted to serve dually as (i) an original sheet carrier path for conveying an original sheet, and (ii) a recording sheet carrier path for conveying a recording sheet. Driving rollers convey a sheet inserted into the sheet carrier path, the inserted sheet being at least one of an original sheet and a recording sheet. A reading device, disposed at a reading position in the sheet carrier path, reads the inserted sheet when the sheet has been conveyed by the driving rollers to the reading position. A printing device, disposed at a printing position in the sheet carrier path, prints (e.g., a confirmation) on the inserted sheet when the sheet has been conveyed by the driving rollers to the printing position. A detecting device detects a presence of the inserted sheet in the sheet carrier path, and a selecting device selects at least one of a transmitting mode and a receiving mode.

Abstract: A film conveying apparatus has a first conveying device for contacting the peripheral surface of a roll film such as a rolled microfilm and rotating the roll film in a direction to advance the leading end edge of the film, and a second conveying device adapted to be urged against the surface of the film led out from the roll film and frictionally drive the film. The film conveying apparatus further has a device for temporarily releasing the pressure contact force of the second conveying device to the surface of the film to prevent oblique movement of the film. The first conveying device has a device for transmitting only the rotation in one direction to a drive shaft so as not to impart a friction load to the microfilm. Further, the first conveying device has its portion of contact with the film protruded to ensure the leading-out of the film.

Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for reading a microfilmed image for image reproduction on a hard copy or the like. The operator can designate the area of image to be read, thus enabling exact image reproduction without loss of image or without unnecessary margins.
