Patent number: 6227828Abstract: A gear pump is used in an electrically-operated sealed compressor. The compressor includes a compression mechanism, an electric motor for driving the compression mechanism, and a crankshaft for transmitting the rotational force of the electric motor to the compression mechanism. The gear pump includes a pair of gears being in mesh with each other, one of which is connected to one end of the crankshaft, and a pump casing accommodating only the pair of gears. The pump casing together with the gear pair is disposed on one side of a cover plate, while other elements constituting the gear pump are disposed on the other side of the cover plate. By this construction, the distance between the gear pair and an auxiliary bearing to which the gear pump is secured can be reduced and, hence, an undesirable whirling of one end portion of the crankshaft can also be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2000Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshiharu Takeuchi, Kiyoji Aburaya, Toshiharu Yasu, Masahiro Tsubokawa, Manabu Sakai, Shoji Aoshika, Tsutayoshi Narita

Patent number: 6086341Abstract: The present invention provides an aluminium near net material for making a rotary scroll. Even when there is a displacement due to level of die accuracy, error in machines used for machining processes and shift of processing fiducial, the invented near net material makes it possible to manufacture rotary scrolls without having skin of the original material staying in a finished rotary scroll, by determining the cutting margin 4 for spiral fin smaller than the cutting margin 5 for axis.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 1997Date of Patent: July 11, 2000Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroyuki Fukuhara, Shigeru Muramatsu, Kiyoji Aburaya, Yoshiharu Takeuchi

Patent number: 5931650Abstract: A hermetic electric scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll which define therebetween a plurality of compression spaces for compressing fluid introduced via a suction port. The orbiting scroll has a base plate and a shaft portion extending from the base plate toward a crankshaft rotatably supported by a support member. A seal member is disposed between the base plate and the support member to define an inner region and an outer region. The shaft portion is exposed to the inner region, while the outer region communicates with the suction port. The shaft portion is formed with an axial hole open to the inner region, while the base plate is formed with a radial hole open to the outer region. Communication is established between the axial and radial holes via a small-diameter hole so that lubricating oil supplied to the inner region is introduced into the outer region via the small-diameter hole for feeding to the compression spaces via the suction port.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 1997Date of Patent: August 3, 1999Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Toshiharu Yasu, Manabu Sakai, Yoshiharu Takeuchi, Kiyoji Aburaya, Shoji Aoshika, Tsutayoshi Narita

Patent number: 5725333Abstract: A spiral end mill which can mill a substantially sharp inside corner of a work surface and attain a stable working accuracy for a long time. The spiral end mill has a hard sintered compact insert portion, a negative relief face a first circular land provided along the outer periphery of the insert portion, and a second circular land on the negative relief face so as to be continuous with the first circular land. The widths of the two circular lands may be the same as or different from each other, and the helix angle of a back line of the second circular land is less than that of the first circular land. A method of manufacturing the spiral end mill involves machining a relief angle in the outer periphery of the insert portion while changing the helix angle between the negative relief face and the rest of the outer periphery.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1996Date of Patent: March 10, 1998Assignees: Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Makoto Abe, Yuichiro Kohno, Nobuo Yasuhira, Shuji Ueda, Kiyoji Aburaya, Seiji Nakatani, Makoto Kawanishi
