    Abstract: Disclosed are a thermoplastic resin composition which comprises(A) 10 to 90% by weight of a polyphenylene ether,(B) 90 to 10% by weight of a saturated polyester,(C) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of an organic phosphorous acid compound represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein n represents 1 or 2; Ar represents an aryl group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms or a substituted aryl group and when n is 2, Ars may be the same or different; and R represents an alkylene group having 2 to 18 carbon atoms or arylene group when n is 1 and represents an alkanetetrayl group having 4 to 18 carbon atoms when n is 2, based on 100 parts by weight of Components (A) and (B) , and(D) 0 to 10 parts by weight of an acid receptor based on 100 parts by weight of Components (A) and (B),and a process for preparing the same.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a process for preparing a thermoplastic resin composition which comprises melting and kneading(A) 100 parts by weight of a resin comprising 100% by weight in total of:(a) 5 to 95% by weight of a non-crystalline thermoplastic resin,(b) 95 to 5% by weight of a crystalline thermoplastic resin,(c) 0 to 50% by weight of a compatibilizer and(d) 0 to 40% by weight of an impact modifierand(B) 1.0 part by weight or more of an organic solvent in a kneader equipped with vent ports each having a vacuum device while maintaining each vent port at reduced pressure to make an organic solvent content in a final composition less than 1.0% by weight.

    Abstract: A resin composition comprising (a) a polyphenylene ether resin, (b) a non-crystalline or low-crystalline polyamide resin, (c) a crystalline polyamide resin and, if desired, (d) a polar compound or a low-molecular diene polymer or the component (d) and (e) a rubbery polymer or an alkenyl aromatic compound/conjugated diene copolymer or a hydrogeneration product thereof. The composition is excellent in both impact strength, particularly on a plane part of a plate-molded article, and dimensional stability.
