  • Patent number: 4630180
Abstract: A plurality of light emitting diode pellets arranged on a base are surrounded by a partition member and an outer frame member fixed on the base to mount an elongated lens on the opening portion thereof. A certain number of partition members are arranged between the base and the lens having recessed portions so as to partition each pellet or groups of several pellets. The upper ends of the partition members are inserted into recessed portions of the lens. Thus, when an arbitrary light emitting diode pellet is energized, light from the energized pellet does not spread to the non-light emitting pellet portions, thus clearly discriminating between the light emitting portions and non-light emitting portions.

  • Patent number: 4496872
Abstract: A sealed beam type reflective lamp has an envelope comprising a front lens and a reflector on the inner surface of which is formed a metal reflective film, and a tungsten coil filament arranged inside the front lens. The lamp has excellent converging effect and its light beam does not spread even if the filament is brought closer to the front lens. The front lens consists of a central circular lens element and a plurality of concentric ring-shaped prism elements. The inner surfaces of these prism elements define a stepped inner surface of the front lens. An angle formed by an inner surface of the prism lens element and the central axis of the lamp is greater than that of the prism lens element situated outward thereof. The step difference of the inner surfaces of the adjacent prism lens elements is 0.6 mm or less.

  • Patent number: 4412716
Abstract: A socket for holding a baseless incandescent lamp to be in electrical contact with terminals of said incandescent lamp, includes a socket body having a receiving cavity with a rectangular section into which a squeezed portion of said baseless incandescent lamp is to be fitted,a pair of terminal members attached to said socket body and to be brought in electrical contact with the terminals of said incandescent lamp when the squeezed portion of said incandescent lamp is fitted in said receiving cavity, andtwo pairs of ribs formed as a unit with said socket body and protruding from a facing pair of inner side faces of the receiving cavity of said socket body so that the projected ends of said ribs may elastically engage said squeezed portion in the vicinity of an exhaust tube of the lamp, the projected ends of two among said ribs squeezing themselves between said exhaust tube and the terminals of said incandescent lamp, thereby preventing said terminals from moving toward said exhaust tube.

  • Patent number: 4365396
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a baseless incandescent lamp assembly comprises a step for holding a flattened seal section of a baseless incandescent lamp between a pair of holding members, a step for inserting the holding members into a lamp holding chamber of a main socket body while keeping the flattened seal action of the baseless incandescent lamp between the holding members, and a step for softening part of said main socket body by heating to deform the same, thereby forming caulked portions to prevent the inserted holding members from slipping out of the lamp holding chamber.
