  • Patent number: 9286515
Abstract: A doze detection method, which accurately detects a blink burst and improves speed and accuracy of doze detection, includes measuring a state where the eye is substantially open as an open eye time and another state as a closed eye time, defining a time shorter than an average blink interval of a healthy adult in an alert state as a first threshold time; defining a time longer than an average closed eye time of a healthy adult in an alert state as a second threshold time; and defining blinks as a blink burst when detecting an eye opening equal to or shorter than the first threshold time. A doze state is determined when the closed eye time of a blink among the blinks during the blink burst reaches at least the second threshold time, the blink occurring after an open eye time equal to at most the first threshold time.

  • Patent number: 8704346
Abstract: In a package wherein a lead part coupled to a semiconductor element by wire bonding, an element retention member to retain the semiconductor element on the top face side and radiate heat on the bottom face side, and an insulative partition part to partition the lead part from the element retention member with an insulative resin appear, a creeping route ranging from the top face to retain the semiconductor element to a package bottom face on a boundary plane between the element retention member and an insulative partition part includes a bent route having a plurality of turns. Consequently, it is possible to inhibit an encapsulation resin to seal a region retaining the semiconductor element from exuding toward the bottom face side of the package.

  • Patent number: 8336877
Abstract: A medium discharging device includes a medium stacking portion, a medium discharge member and a moving mechanism. A medium having an image recorded thereon is to be stacked on the medium stacking portion. The medium discharge member discharges the medium to the medium stacking portion. The moving mechanism includes a separation member. Based on a discharge timing at which the medium is discharged from the medium discharge member, the separation member moves the medium discharge member between an advanced position at a downstream end in the medium conveyance direction and a retracted position that is located upstream of the advanced position in the medium conveyance direction, to separate from the medium discharge member a rear end of the discharged medium in the medium conveyance direction.
