  • Patent number: 5653002
Abstract: A slide fastener having a split arrester for preventing a pair of interengaged fastener stringers S from accidental splitting when a slider is removed. The split arrester comprises interlocking male and female members mounted on a pair of fastener stringers contiguously to the respective terminal portions of opposed coupling element rows and substantially equal in thickness and width of the coupling elements E. The male member has a locking tongue portion projecting from an attachment base portion toward the female member and terminated in a protuberance. The female member has a locking hollow portion, for receiving the locking tongue portion and having a pair of resilient catch portions for gripping the neck of the protuberance from opposite sides in the direction of thickness of the fastener tape.

  • Patent number: 5607621
Abstract: Disclosed are a phosphorescent synthetic resin material capable of absorbing and accumulating light therein in the light and phosphorescing in the dark, a method for the production of the material, and a formed article or molded article made of the phosphorescent synthetic resin material. The phosphorescent synthetic resin material having a phosphorescent pigment, SrAl.sub.2 O.sub.4, uniformly dispersed in the synthetic resin is obtained by mixing the synthetic resin with the phosphorescent pigment and an activator and kneading the resultant mixture at a temperature 10 to 20.degree. C. higher than the melting point of the synthetic resin. In a preferred embodiment, the resultant compound is extruded at a temperature 10.degree. to 20.degree. C. higher than the melting point of the synthetic resin under an extrusion pressure in the range of 50 to 130 kg/cm.sup.2 and the extruded strands are chopped to produce pellets.

  • Patent number: 5282548
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically selecting one from color pellets of different colors and automatically supplying it to an injection molding machine, comprises: an auxiliary hopper connected to a pellet supply portion of the injection molding machine via an automatic change-over valve; a negative pressure device for causing the auxiliary hopper, at the upstream side chamber, to be under negative pressure; a pellet feed pipe connected to the upstream side chamber of the auxiliary hopper; and storage tanks for storing the respective color pellets, each storage tank being connected to the pellet feed pipe via a respective automatic change-over valve.

  • Patent number: 4419306
Abstract: A method of automatically controlling the length of a row of articles to be injection-molded on a multi-cavity mold having an elongate runner and a plurality of successive cavities spaced equidistantly along the runner, comprising the steps of: detecting an initial position of a control rod inserted in the runner; registering both the direction and the extent to which the control rod is to be moved for longitudinal adjustment with respect to the runner, depending on the initial position of the control rod and a preselected length of the article row to be molded; moving the control rod longitudinally of the runner in the registered direction; detecting the movement of the control rod to the registered extent; and in response to the last-named detecting, terminating the movement of the control rod. An apparatus for carrying out this method is also disclosed.
