Abstract: A magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer and optionally a backing layer, wherein at least one of said magnetic layer and said backing layer contains a fungicide selected from the group consisting of 2-(4-thiazolyl) benzimidazole, N-(fluorodichloromethylthio)-phthalimide, N,N-dimethyl-N'-phenyl-N'-fluorodichloromethylthio-sulfamide.

Abstract: The combination of an optical information recording and reproducing medium and a container for storing said optical information recording and reproducing medium, at least one of said optical information recording and reproducing medium and said container comprising a fungicide wherein said fungicide is in a layer selected from the group consisting of a layer comprising fine metal particles dispersed in a hydrophilic colloid dispersion medium; a layer comprising a metal or an alloy formed by a vacuum evaporation method or a sputtering method; and a layer comprising a coloring substance or consisting essentially of a polymeric substance. The invention also provides said medium when it contains a fungicide and a method for making the claimed combination and components thereof.

Abstract: There is disclosed a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material comprising at least one hydrophilic colloid layer containing at least one compound represented by the following general formula [I]: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 have the same meanings as defined in the specification.The light-sensitive silver halide photographic material according to this invention has excellent bacteriocidal properties and does not adversely affect photographic performance.

Abstract: A silver halide photographic material for use in flash exposure of less than 1/10000 second comprising 10.sup.-8 to 5.times.10.sup.-7 moles/moles of silver halide of at least one compound belonging to Group VIII of the Periodic Table and at least one of the sensitizing dyes of the following formulas (I) or (II) and which is capable of sensitizing silver halide at less than 550 nm: ##STR1## wherein R, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, Q, X.sup.(-), Z, Z.sub.1, Z.sub.2, n, n.sub.1, n.sub.2 and n.sub.3 are as defined in the specification.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a silver halide photographic emulsion and particularly to a silver halide photographic emulsion spectrally sensitized for argon laser beam exposure having an improved high spectral sensitivity to flash exposure using flash rays having main emission peaks at wave lengths of 514.5 nm, 488.0 nm and 476.5 nm (argon laser rays).

Abstract: A lith-type silver halide photographic light-sensitive material for forming halftone dot images is disclosed which contains a sensitizing dye represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## WHEREIN Z.sub.1 is an atomic group necessary for forming a naphthothiazole ring, Z.sub.2 is an atomic group necessary for forming a member selected from a group consisting of substituted or unsubstituted, benzothiazole, benzoselenazole, naphthothiazole and naphthoselenazole nucleus, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are respectively a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, X.sup..theta. is an anion, and n is a positive integer of 1 or 2 with the proviso that when the dye is an inner salt, n is 1.
