Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a cooking apparatus which can keep a food warm at a proper temperature without damaging the food. The interior of a heating chamber 12 is heated by heating chamber interior heating means 13 and steam is supplied into the heating chamber 12 by steam supply means 18. At the then time, since a control part 19, based on the temperature of the interior of the heating chamber detected by heating chamber temperature detect means 20, controls the heating chamber interior heating means 13 and steam supply means 18 in such a manner that the interior of the heating chamber 12 provides a given temperature, a food 11 can be maintained at a heat retention temperature suitable for keeping the food warm. This can solve the problem found in the conventional cooking apparatus that the surface of the food dries and burns.
