  • Patent number: 6360813
Abstract: An electronic component cooling apparatus includes an air-cooled or water-cooled heat radiating portion and a meandering capillary tube heat pipe which carry out heat transfer between a board having electronic components mounted thereon and the heat radiating portion. The heat radiating portion comprises a plate fin type radiator 21 with an outer-shape of a substantially flat plate. The meandering capillary tube heat pipe is a plate type heat pipe 13 with an outer-shape of a substantially flat plate. The meandering capillary 13c is connected along a surface of the heat radiating portion. Since the meandering capillary tube heat pipe has a very large heat transfer capacity and is able to transfer heat over a long distance with low thermal resistance, it is possible to separate the board apart from the heat radiating portion. Accordingly, flexibility in arrangement of the electronic components or the heat radiating portion is so improved that various shaped apparatus can be designed and manufactured.

  • Patent number: 6134878
Abstract: A gas turbine driven power system includes a shell having an air inlet and an exhaust outlet. Mufflers are provided at the air inlet and the exhaust outlet, respectively. A gas turbine as a power source is provided in the shell and includes an inlet port and an outlet port. A heat exchanger is further provided in the shell in an air-passing space free of barrier formed between the muffler at the air inlet and the inlet port of the gas turbine. It is so arranged that all the air introduced into the shell through the air inlet passes through the heat exchanger for heat exchange with heat generated inside the shell.

  • Patent number: 5970729
Abstract: A cooling apparatus used, for instance, for a laser which is low in the consumption of energy and can be made small in size. The cooling apparatus includes: an outside air - water heat exchanger (or outside air cooler 15) as a first cooler; a refrigerant - water heat exchanger (or refrigerating cooler 27) as a second cooler; an outside air temperature sensor (22) for detecting an outside air temperature; and a control section (5) which, according to an outside air temperature, selects a refrigerator-cooler joint use mode for operating both the outside air cooler (15) and the refrigerating cooler (27), or an outside air cooler single use mode for operating only the outside air cooler (15) with the refrigerating cooler (27) stopped.

  • Patent number: 5845848
Abstract: A deicer includes a water tank storing water and an antifreeze solution tank storing an antifreeze solution. The water tank and the antifreeze solution tank are provided with heat exchangers, respectively. Pumps are further provided for feeding the water and the antifreeze solution in the respective tanks to a spray nozzle for spraying out a mixture of the water and the antifreeze solution. A gas turbine is provided for driving the foregoing pumps. Exhaust gas of the gas turbine is introduced into the heat exchangers through a control of valve switching so as to hold temperatures of the water and the antifreeze solution in the respective tanks to be constant. Further, bleed air of the gas turbine is fed to an air nozzle so as to be jetted out therefrom.
