  • Publication number: 20040241415
Abstract: A reinforcing fiber substrate formed by at least a reinforcing fiber yarn group arranged with reinforcing fiber yarns in parallel to each other in one direction, wherein a resin material whose main constituent is a thermoplastic resin is provided at 2 to 15% by weight at least on one surface of the reinforcing fiber substrate, and the reinforcing fiber volume fraction Vpf of the reinforcing fiber substrate is in a range of 40 to 60%, and a composite material made therefrom. A substrate excellent in handling property and a composite material excellent in mechanical properties can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20040013878
Abstract: The hose of the invention comprises a thermoplastic elastomer having a softening temperature of 160° C. or above as measured by a TMA softening temperature measuring apparatus, elongation at break of at least 200% as determined at a testing rate of 100 mm/min, initial flexural modulus of from 20 to 700 MPa as measured at a testing rate of 2 mm/min, and a volume change of −2 to +10% after 168 hours of soaking in a 50%-ethylene glycol aqueous solution at 100° C. In particular, the hose preferably comprises a thermoplastic elastomer comprising 15 to 95 parts by mass of an olefin resin (A) that contains 50 to 97% by mass of a specific 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer (A1) and 3 to 50% by mass of an olefin resin (A2) other than the 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer (A1), and 5 to 85 parts by mass of a crosslinked rubber (B) (components (A) and (B) total 100 parts by weight).

  • Patent number: 5292845
Abstract: The ethylene/.alpha.-olefin/7-methyl-1,6-octadiene copolymer rubber of the invention is a random copolymer rubber prepared using a Group IVB transition metal type catalyst containing a specific zirconium catalyst component, and in this copolymer rubber, a molar ratio of ethylene to .alpha.-olefin, a diene content, an intrinsic viscosity [.eta.], an intensity ratio D of T.alpha..beta. to T.alpha..alpha. in a .sup.13 C-NMR spectrum of said copolymer rubber, a B value which is a measure of distribution of each monomer and a glass transition temperature are all within specific ranges. The rubber composition of the invention comprises the above-mentioned random copolymer rubber and a conjugated diene rubber. The random copolymer rubber has high stereoregularity, narrow composition distribution and excellent low-temperature flexibility, and shows extremely high covulcanizability with the conjugated diene rubber.

  • Patent number: 4252909
Abstract: A free expandable rubbery composition comprising an ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer or terpolymer, a blowing agent and a crosslinking agent, said ethylene/.alpha.-olefin co- or terpolymer simultaneously meeting the following requirements (A), (B) and (C):(A) it contains 55 to 73 mole % of an ethylene unit,(B) it has an (EB.times.TS) value of at least 7,000 wherein EB represents the break elongation (%) of the co- or terpolymer and TS is the maximum tensile strength (kg/cm.sup.2) of the co- or terpolymer, and(C) it has a Mooney viscosity, ML.sub.1+4 at 121.degree. C., of 65 to 120.This composition can be used for the production of a crosslinked and foamed rubbery article by the free expansion method.
