  • Patent number: 5619241
Abstract: The printing paper can be formed by applying a slight amount of paint including a white pigment having a given BET specific surface area onto at least one side surface of base paper having a given apparent density. Also, according to the printing paper, in a time T=L/S to be determined by the shortest inter-nozzle distance L of different colors of a multi-color ink-jet printer and a printing paper/head relative moving speed S, the ink absorbing capacity V of the printing paper according to a blister method satisfies the following equation: V.gtoreq.2ax.sup.2 /(0.0254).sup.2 (where a represents an amount of ink drop to be jetted out from a nozzle, and x represents definition). The present ink-jet printing method uses the above-mentioned printing paper.

  • Patent number: 5616409
Abstract: An ink jet recording medium is disclosed, comprising a coating formed on at least one surface of a substrate, characterized in that said substrate has an apparent density of 0.60 to less than 0.75 g/cm.sup.3 and a Steckigt sizing degree of 2 to 18 seconds and the coating is formed by applying a coating agent containing a white pigment, of which the BET specific surface is 100 to 400 m.sup.2 /g at a rate in the range of 2 to 10 g/m.sup.2.An ink jet recording method is also disclosed, characterized in that recording is performed using water-color ink, of which the surface tension at 20.degree. C. is 40 dyne/cm, on an ink jet recording medium.

  • Patent number: 5589259
Abstract: An ink jet recording paper having a coating layer applied in a low coating amount which is less apt to occur mixed color bleeding and unevenness in an image density of an ink, and which is excellent in image quality and strength of the coating layer. The ink jet recording paper comprises (a) a base paper having an apparent density of from 0.80 to 0.90 g/cm.sup.3, an air permeability of from 5 to 15 seconds and a formation index of not less than 20; and (b) a coating layer provided on at least one surface of the base paper, the coating layer having a dried coverage of from 4 to 10 g/m.sup.2 and mainly comprising (1) a white pigment having a BET specific surface area of from not less than 250 m.sup.2 /g to less than 400 m.sup.2 /g and (2) an aqueous adhesive.

  • Patent number: 5541002
Abstract: A printing paper comprises a paper substrate and a coating layer formed on at least one side of the substrate and formed from a coating composition comprising a white pigment and a water-soluble resin in an amount of from 4 to 10 g/m.sup.2. When the paper sheet is divided or split into a printing surface layer and a non-printing surface layer, a difference in shrinking rate along a cross direction between the printing surface layer and the non-printing surface layer is within a range of .+-.0.1%. The paper can suppress curling on printing.

  • Patent number: 5473339
Abstract: In a liquid crystal projector having a light source and liquid crystal panel units disposed in the optical paths, reflecting means is disposed on the emanating side of the projector for reflecting the light in a direction approximately perpendicular to the optical axis, and change-over means is coupled to the liquid crystal panel units for reversing the lateral directions of images.
