  • Patent number: 4196273
Abstract: The present invention presents a novel curable organopolysiloxane composition capable of being adhesively bonded firmly to the surface of various substrates with which it has been in contact during its curing by heating without the primer treatment of the surface. The composition is essentially composed of a diorganopolysiloxane terminated at both chain ends with vinyl groups as the base component, optionally, in combination of a copolymeric organopolysiloxane composed of vinyl-containing monofunctional siloxane units and tetrafunctional siloxane units SiO.sub.2, an organohydrogen-polysiloxane having at least three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule as a crosslinking agent by the addition reaction with the vinyl groups in the base component, a platinum catalyst to accelerate the above addition reaction and an alkoxy silane having an aliphatically unsaturated group which serves as a "self-bonding" improver in the composition with or without the addition of a filler.

  • Patent number: 4144068
Abstract: In a method of processing an image-wise exposed silver halide color photographic material by applying thereto at least a color development processing and a silver removal processing (including performing a bleaching and a fixing separately or simultaneously, (e.g., a blixing)), the improvement which comprises processing, after the color development processing, the silver halide color photographic material with a processing bath containing a compound, as a bleach accelerator, represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R represents an --NR.sup.4 R.sup.5 group, an --O--R.sup.6 group or an --S--R.sup.6 group; R.sup.6 represents an atomic group necessary for forming a ring together with R.sup.1 ; R.sup.1, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; R.sup.2 and R.sup.

  • Patent number: 4139519
Abstract: The curable composition provided by the present invention comprises a butadiene polymer having organosilicon groups as the pendant groups, an ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable compound, an organic peroxide, and optionally a filler. The butadiene polymer being the base of this composition can readily be obtained by the platinum-catalyzed addition reaction between an organosilicon compound having a hydrogen atom directly bonded to the silicon atom in a molecule and the ethylenic unsaturation of a conventional butadiene polymer. The compositions of the invention are remarkably superior in many respects to those composition based on ordinary butadiene polymers, and useful for applications in a wide variety including the production of electrically insulating materials and various kinds of industrial articles.

  • Patent number: 4128909
Abstract: The Gramophone record cleaner proposed is of the roller type having a sticky surface formed of a rubbery organopolysiloxane elastomer having a relatively low hardness and adapted to pick up dirt or dust and other contaminants from within the grooves of a record as the roller is passed over the record surface. The roller-type cleaners are superior in their easy performance of complete dirt removal in repeated operations, since the sticky surface of the roller once choked with contaminants can be cleaned simply by rinsing with water.

  • Patent number: 4074001
Abstract: A fixing roll for electrophotography having a surface layer of a cured room-temperature-vulcanizing silicone rubber composition comprising a mixture consisting of two diorganopolysiloxanes, one of which is terminated at the chain ends with silanol groups and has a relatively high viscosity, and the other of which is terminated at the chain ends with trialkyl silyl groups and has a relatively low viscosity, an alkoxysilane or a partial hydrolysis-condensate thereof as the crosslinking agent, a metal salt of an organic acid as the reaction catalyst, and three kinds of inorganic fillers, namely, calcium carbonate, iron oxide, and titanium dioxide, and containing substantially no siliceous fillers. The fixing rolls have excellent properties including, in particular, the ability to provide a long copy-life to electrophotographic copying machines.

  • Patent number: 3971517
Abstract: A guide roller is traversed substantially in parallel to the axis of an uprightly supported bobbin at a speed slow enough not to form appreciable twilled angles of a wound yarn. The yarn continuously extruded from a spinning apparatus at a speed higher than 2000 m/min is introduced substantially in parallel to the axis of the bobbin and changes its direction to right angles with respect to the axis of the bobbin while travelling through the guide roller. The guide roller traverses with shorter traverse strokes as the diameter of the wound yarn becomes larger.
