In particular, an aluminum pigment having a mean particle diameter d50 of 5-35 &mgr;m, a ratio of the mean particle diameter d50 (&mgr;m) to a mean thickness t (&mgr;m) of 30-90, and a mean surface roughness Ra of 20 nm or less, is disclosed. A method for manufacturing the aluminum pigment of the invention is also provided.
