    Abstract: Compressed image data for a plurality of sheets of original transmitted from another party is demodulated, expanded by a modem 1 and a facsimile control portion 2, and reduced at a reduction processing portion 11, and the image data after the reduction is transferred to a printing control portion 8. In a first embodiment, the reduced image data for one sheet of original is printed out by a printing portion on a sheet of recording paper from its one end in a main scanning direction. After printing of the image data for the one sheet is completed, the sheet of recording paper is rewound, and then the reduced image data for the second page is printed out laterally to the main scanning direction of the image data of the first page.

A second one line (1H) delay circuit is included in the signal processing circuit so as to produce a low frequency component of the luminance signal and the color information signal.
