  • Patent number: 5390599
Abstract: A sheeter which can cut a running printed sheet discharged from a web-fed rotary gravure press, a web-fed rotary forms press, or similar rotary press with higher accuracy is provided on-line. The sheeter can selectively carry out a change in the length of cut with the change of a printing plate cylinder. A drum roller, which has the same diameter as that of the plate cylinder in a printing unit or a diameter that is enlarged by an amount of the applied tension, is provided in such a way that it is exchangeable and lies on a sheet guide passage introducing the running printed sheet to a cutting section with the flying knife. The drum roller is rotationally driven synchronous with the plate cylinder by a driving shaft of the plate cylinder, and feeds the running printed sheet to the cutting section by winding it.

  • Patent number: 5377178
Abstract: A data recording/reproduction method and apparatus uses an optical disk equipped with wobbling track guide grooves disposed in a track scanning direction and minutely wobbled. The apparatus uses a circuit for detecting and correcting displacement of an optical spot position from the wobbling track, and a system for allowing data to correspond to front and rear edges of recording pits as a recording system, and includes a circuit for independently handling reproduction pulses obtained from reproduction signals of the recording pits on the front and rear edge sides and for generating reproduction clocks. A circuit resynthesizes the two series of reproduction pulse trains by a specific pattern portion in the data. Another optical disk apparatus divides each track into zones, and switches a rate of revolution each zone to attain a substantially equal linear velocity. A servo signal reproduction clock generation circuit and a data signal recording/reproduction clock generation circuit are disposed separately.

  • Patent number: 5339319
Abstract: In a rotary type storage apparatus and a control method thereof, a plurality of concentric or spiral information tracks are set and also each of the plural information tracks is subdivided into a plurality of sectors along a circumferential direction, which constitute a plurality of information recording planes. Also, in this apparatus and method, there are provided a plurality of read/write heads employed at each of the information recording planes and accessible to the information tracks, and also a head drive mechanism for positioning these plural read/write heads to the information tracks. At least one of the plural information recording planes corresponds to such a recording plane where a substitution information track has been set, on which a substitution sector corresponding to a failed sector present at another information recording plane is recorded.

  • Patent number: 5217719
Abstract: Surface-treated sodium bicarbonate particles, the surfaces of which are coated with sodium carbonate or its double salt, are disclosed. Heat treatment or irradiation with micro waves o infrared light converts the surfaces of sodium bicarbonate particles into sodium carbonate. The surface-treated sodium bicarbonate particles exhibit an increased capacity to bind with other sodium bicarbonate particles as well as with other components when they are molded. They can be used as an excellent binder for molding various preparations. The products produced have a prolonged storage stability.

  • Patent number: 5034941
Abstract: A recording/reproduction head incorporates an optical system which produces two light spots on an optical disk at positions spaced out from each other by, for example, half the radial span of the effective area of the disk. In recording or reproducing information using the two light spots, the inner light spot is moved to an unused track area provided in the innermost section of the disk, an auto-focusing servo system for the inner light spot is started, a control track provided near the unused area is read to judge the compatibility of the disk, and, only when the disk compatibility is verified, the outer light spot is moved to an unused track area provided in the outermost section of the disk, and an auto-focusing servo system for the outer light spot is started by making reference to a signal to the already operating inner auto-focusing servo system.

  • Patent number: 4625860
Abstract: A tubular belt conveyor has an endless belt having a substantially flat cross-section with constant thickness over the breadth thereof. The belt is deformed over its breadth in a curved fashion such that the longitudinal side edges of one surface are brought into abutment with each other thus forming a tube, with the adjacent edges constituting a longitudinal lug projecting radially outwardly from the tube portion. The lug is clamped and held on both sides by a pair of guide rollers and pressed at its radially outer end surface by a pressing roller. The tubular form of the belt is maintained by a plurality of tube-forming rollers surrounding the tube portion of the belt. The flat belt is easy to produce and can be coiled in a compact manner for easy packaging. Local wear of the belt due to contact with the axial end edges of the pulley is avoided because the pulley at each end of the conveyor may have an axial length greater than the breadth of the belt, because of the flat cross-section of the belt.
